History:
(World of Suspense I#1/3 (fb)) - Irwin Winters was a pilot for Peri-Globe Airlines. One day, he and his co-pilot Mac Jones were going to pilot a jetliner of 30 passengers from the USA to England. Irwin's wife Judy visited him before the flight and confessed to having a premonition of some danger but Irwin insisted he had to take the flight. Parting from her, he boarded the plane and overheard several passengers talking glumly about the conditions they were going through. Entering the cockpit, he found Mac was also in a poor mood, as his girlfriend Martha had decided to break off their relationship and marry another man. When Irwin remarked that he had a beautiful wife waiting for him and was happy, Mac replied that he must be the only man on the plane who was happy.

    The plane departed but while over the Atlantic Ocean, it was struck by a violent force that propelled it through space to the planet Uranus. Exiting the plane, the crew and passengers discovered Uranus was a paradise inhabited by friendly, green-skinned Uranians who welcomed them to their planet, indicating that on their world, there was no such thing as harm. Many of the passengers were taken by the beauty of Uranus while the Uranians became curious when they heard about the technology available on Earth.

    After a couple of days, Captain Winters was ready to fly back to Earth but he found that Mac and all of the passengers wanted to remain on Uranus. However, the Uranians were now very curious about Earth and asked to accompany Irwin back. With a full cabin, Winters flew into another storm and wound up back on Earth. The Uranians left the plane and went to explore the Earth.

(World of Suspense I#1/3) - Winters was brought to court to explain what had become of his plane and the passengers. Winters truthfully recounted what had happened, which the court found hard to believe. However, the Uranians - by this time disenchanted with Earth because of its high cost of living - appeared in the court room and testified to the veracity of Winters' statement. They also asked Winters to fly them back to Uranus.

    The Uranians seen in this story are vastly different in appearance from the Uranians encountered by Marvel Boy (Bob Grayson), coincidentally also in the 1950s. Given that the amoeboid race Marvel Boy encountered was said to dwell within the Uranian planet core, it stands to reason that the amoeboid race dwelled in the core while the green-skinned Uranians seen in this profile dwelled instead on the planet's surface, with both being native to Uranus.. --Proto-Man

Mac Jones was Irwin Winters' co-pilot on the flight which was redirected to Uranus. Mac had just broken up with his girlfriend before the flight and was feeling dejected. Pleased by his surroundings on Uranus, Mac elected to remain there when Winters returned to Earth.

Uranians

The Uranians were short, green-skinned humanoids who lived on the planet Uranus. They had no concept of "harm" because their planet was so peaceful. After hearing about the buildings and television programs on Earth, they became fascinated and asked Irwin Winters to bring them to Earth when he flew back. When Winters got into legal trouble over the disappearance of his passengers, the Uranians came to the courthouse to prove the truth of Winters' story. They also noted how expensive it was to live on Earth and asked Winters to fly them back to Uranus.

Judy was Irwin Winters' wife. She had a premonition that there was some danger prior to his flight to England - a premonition born out when Irwin's plane was redirected to Uranus.
