(Amazing Spider-Man I#187 (fb)) - As movie idol Robert Starr prepared to leave his Los Angeles mansion for a week in England to film some location shots, his son Barry asked if he and his mother would be going with Robert. Robert apologized, stating that he wished they could, and assured Barry he would only be gone for a week. Robert then reminded Barry about school but the conversation was interrupted when a rat jumped out and bit Barry on the arm. Barry soon became sick with the plague and doctors suggest Barry be sent to specialists in New York but Barry never arrived, as he was taken hostage by the criminal Electro, who sent a ransom note for one million dollars to Robert and his wife.

Comments: Created by Marv Wolfman, Jim Starlin and Bob McLeod.

Robert Starr's height and weight were impossible to approximate, as he was never seen next to any character whose height and weight had been officially determined. Additionally, his eye color was also impossible to determine, as he was only seen either from far away or while squinting.

Barry Starr

Barry Starr was the young son of movie idol Robert Starr and he lived at Robert's Los Angeles mansion with his parents. When Robert was preparing to leave for a movie location shoot, Barry asked if he and his mother would be going to England with Robert, who expressed wishes that Barry could accompany him and assured Barry that he would only be gone for a week. Before Robert left, however, a rat jumped up and bit Barry on the arm, forcing doctors to run several tests on Barry before recommending he be sent to a specialist in New York. Barry never made it to New York, as he was kidnapped and held hostage by the criminal Electro. While Barry was captured, tests came back that confirmed Barry had contracted the plague and Barry ultimately infected the unknowing Electro as well. The S.H.I.E.L.D. peacekeeping organization eventually became involved in the search for Barry and they narrowed the search down to a power plant in Indian Point, soon sending Captain America in to rescue Barry. Cap managed to free Barry but Electro pulled Barry close to hold off Captain America and the arriving Spider-Man, only to be told of Barry's infection by Captain America. Terrified, Electro threw Barry to the ground and tried to overload his body to burn out the plague while Captain America and Spider-Man escaped with Barry. Following his rescue, Barry was taken to doctors who confirmed that Barry would good as new in a couple of weeks.
