SEEKER

Real Name: Unrevealed

Identity/Class: Human zombie;
presumably British (during his life)

Occupation: Seeker of new Ghost Rider

Group Membership: None

Affiliations: Johnny Blaze, Ghost Rider (Alejandra Jones/Zarathos)

Enemies: Adam and his cult, Mephisto, Servicer

Known Relatives: None

Aliases: None

Base of Operations: Mobile;
   formerly a temple near Murra in Nueva Segovia, Nicaragua;
   formerly presumably London, England, UK

First Appearance: Ghost Rider VII#1 (September, 2011)

Powers/Abilities: Seeker felt no pain at all and could take a considerable amount of physical damage and still survive. Seeker's head remained alive even after he was removed from his body, which had previously suffered a plethora of bullet holes and the loss of the right arm.

   Resurrected by supernatural means, Seeker had the ability to find a new viable host for a Spirit of Vengeance and then track down Ghost Rider wherever he or she was. He could also decrease the powers of a Ghost Rider and presumably remove them completely if necessary.

   He is not the one granting the power of a Spirit of Vengeance and can not increase a Ghost Rider's powers.

   Seeker has a cockney accent.

Height: Unrevealed (5'8"; by approximation)
Weight: Unrevealed (155 lbs; by approximation)
Eyes: White (previously black) (the reason for the different eye colors is unrevealed, but maybe it had something to do with his powers)
Hair: Black

History:
(Ghost Rider VII#1/2 (fb) - BTS) - In a temple in Nicaragua an assortment of corpses was set up in a circle. For days nothing happened and the smell of the rotting corpses began to fill the temple.

(Ghost Rider VII#1/2) - Adam wasn't pleased when one of his followers began to question if anything was going to happen. One of the corpses finally awakened and was more concerned with being naked than anything else. Adam ordered to get the Seeker a robe and then handed him Ghost Rider's chain, imbued with the spirit of Zarathos. The Seeker walked the lines of cultists to see if the spirit within the chain would chose one of them. He was a bit disappointed when a muscular wasn't chosen and walked past Alejandra, who touched the chain wrapped around Seeker's hand. Alejandra ignited and Seeker asked her quickly to focus and asked her for her name before her sin was burned away and she transformed into Ghost Rider. Seeker handed the newly empowered Ghost Rider a motorcycle handle and then led her through a portal to Ohio to deal with the hammer-wielder Skadi (Sinthea Shmidt) and Blackout and Deathwatch, who tried to take advantage of the situation.

(Ghost Rider VII#2) - After Ghost Rider returned from her mission Adam asked her to cleanse her fellow cultists of their sin. Seeker tried to stop this because that was not what a Ghost Rider was supposed to do, but Adam reminded him that he was only their to find the new Ghost Rider and nothing else. He then had some of the cultist shoot the Seeker with machine guns, but it didn't kill him. Seeker was shocked when Adam imbued Ghost Rider with more power and tried to force her to do his bidding. Johnny Blaze arrived and shot Adam in the shoulder. Seeker was honored to meet Blaze, the former Ghost Rider, and asked Johnny to get him to Alejandra so that he could power her down again, but the cultists riddled Seeker with bullets again. Seeker and Blaze witnessed the new Ghost Rider deal with Mephisto's Servicer demon. Seeker just watched when the new Ghost Rider knocked out Johnny Blaze because she wanted to begin Adam's mission to wipe out all sin with Johnny.

(Ghost Rider VII#3) - Seeker blocked Ghost Rider's weapon with his hand before it pierced Johnny's skull. He reminded Ghost Rider that Blaze was not a target and that he could decrease her powers because she was a Spirit of Vengeance and not supposed to wipe out sin in everyone because there was nobody alive without sin. He tried to help Alejandra because Adam was just using her, but Adam blew him away. Adam powered Ghost Rider up even more and Seeker suggested to Johnny to run before they got squashed. Johnny took Seeker along because he believed he could help him and Seeker felt honored that he got to ride on an actual Ghost Rider's bike and began to recite a poetry. He lost his right arm when the temple began to collapse, but still hung on to Johnny with his other arm to escape the temple's collapse. The two escaped the temple and made it to a nearby village, which was hit by Ghost Rider's sin-purging wave. Seeker held on to Johnny to nullify Ghost Rider's power and keep Johnny save from it, but everyone else at the village had their sin purged and free will eradicated. Seeker made it clear that Johnny could've done things like this all these years and even though Johnny didn't believe that he could stop Adam, Seeker believed that he had the potential to do so.

(Ghost Rider VII#4) - Johnny Blaze signed a contract with Mephisto to get a space-faring motorcycle to get him and Seeker to a space station Adam and Ghost Rider had traveled to with a stolen space shuttle. After Seeker assured Johnny that the new Ghost Rider was there, Johnny blasted Seeker into outer space in his ejection seat because for Johnny the Seeker was just another supernatural jerk that tried to use Ghost Rider for his own goals. Protected by a force field the ejection seat fell toward Earth and Seeker hoped that it had a parachute.

(Ghost Rider VII#7) - Ghost Rider (Alejandra) found Seeker and went with him to the movies. They got something to eat and drink, but accidentally ended up in a crappy comedy movie instead of Terrence Malick's Tree of Life. Ghost Rider asked Seeker if there was a way to help the people in Nicaragua she had harmed. Seeker made it clear that she would've have to put back the sin into them she had removed from them. She could find their sins in Hell and could retrieve them with Johnny Blaze's aid. One moviegoer wasn't too happy that they just wouldn't shut up, but got a bit scared when he saw who he was trying to confront.

(Ghost Rider VII#9) - Seeker was at a strip club, but Ghost Rider (Alejandra) interrupted his good time because she needed him to grant her more power so she could directly assault Mephisto's Hell. She decapitated Seeker, but he made it clear that he just existed to activate the next Ghost Rider and couldn't make her more powerful. Seeker told her to find Adam, who was the one that had actually powered her up. It was a surprise to Ghost Rider that Adam was still alive, which seemed ludicrous to Seeker because it should be pretty obvious that Adam would not die that easily. Seeker told Ghost Rider to just follow through the vortex Adam had used to teleport Ghost Rider to Japan to its source to find Adam.

Comments: Created by Rob Williams, Matthew Clark & Sean Parsons.

Seeker did not appear in the story of Ghost Rider VII#8 (March, 2012), but he did the fourth wall breaking intro to the story.

The crappy movie mentioned in the review of #7 was not identified by name and it was not called a crappy comedy movie in the comic. That is just me because I can't stand Kevin James and his work. The movie in question was obviously Zookeeper (2011).

The area where the temple was located was revealed in Absolute Carnage: Symbiote of Vengeance#1 (November, 2019) of all places (I couldn't find it mentioned earlier, but maybe I am wrong).

This profile was completed on 10/11/2025, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 25th anniversary event.
