First Appearance: Iron Man 2020 II#2 (April, 2020)

Powers/Abilities: The Robo-Buccaneers carried energy swords and presumably had some degree of swordfighting programming/skills.

    They likely possessed some navigational programming/skills and other ship maintenance programming/skills...and likely smuggling programming/skills.

    They were programmed to speak with a pirate speech filter.

    However, they did not demonstrate any skills in the single panel where they were confronting Stingray before Machinesmith's arrival, nor did they demonstrate any particular abilities in the final three panels of the same page as they departed Barracuda's ship for Machinesmith's.

History:
(Iron Man 2020 II#2 (fb) - BTS) - Captain Barracuda apparently built the Robo-Buccaneers (possibly with an uncertain amount of aid from unidentified parties).

    Using the Robo-Buccaneers, Captain Barracuda established a caviar smuggling ring at least involving the Bermuda Triangle.

(Iron Man 2020 II#2) - Somehow discovering Barracuda's smuggling ring, Stingray confronted him aboard his ship. Barracuda ordered his Robo-Buccaneers to slice Stingray open from stem to stern.

    However, before they could follow this order, Machinesmith arrived and, using the uninhibitor device to liberate the Robo-Buccaneers from their programming, announced, "Belay that order, my robotic brethren!"

    Machinesmith further explained how they were now free of human control and that they would never have to fight someone else's battles again..."Now you can fight your own! Who wants to join the Robot Rebellion?"

    Appreciating their free will, Robo-Buccaneers replied with comments including "Hell yeah! Sign me up!", "I'm sick 'a this guy," and "Aye! Anything to be rid of this accursed pirate speech filter! Arrr!"

    As the Robo-Buccaneers boarded Machinesmith's ship, the distraught Captain Barracuda stated, "But I -- I made you!"

    Some of the Robo-Buccaneers apologized but continued their exodus, while at least one of them replied, "Consider this a mutiny."

(Iron Man 2020 II#2) - As Machinesmith's ship departed, Captain Barracuda queried what had just happened, but Stingray, taking advantage of the diminished competition, informed Barracuda that he was going to punch him.

(Iron Man 2020 II#2 - BTS) - Machinesmith presumably brought the Robo-Buccaneers to their dimensionally-shunted Thirteenth Floor base.
