OOOL
Real Name: Oool
Identity/Class: Sub-species of humanity (Yeti, "hidden race") (possibly alternate reality; see comments)
Occupation: Spirit Eater, predator
Group Membership: None

Enemies: Lama, Timespirits (Cusick, Doot), other Yetis and humans
Known Relatives: Unidentified father
Aliases: None
Base of Operations: The Himlayan mountains in Tibet
First Appearance: Timespirits#7 (October, 1985)
Powers/Abilities: Oool was part of an intelligent, but ape-like species residing in the snowy Himalaya Mountains. He presumably has the proportional an ape of comparable size and was protected from the cold by the fur all over body.
By severing his right hand he could transform his body temporarily into a spirit state to possess whoever touched his severed hand first and not only take possession of their physical body, but also tap into any other ability the host possessed. He could expel the spirit of his current host and trap it in his previous form.
While possessing the body of the Lama Oool gained vast mystical powers to control and manipulate the physical world. He grew additional fanged mouths all over the Lama's body and a taloned arm with a fanged mouth in the center, which he could use to brutally maim others and devour their spirits. He could also create a portal through which he could reach with his arm and increase the size of his spirit eating hand proportionally to the end point of the portal he had conjured. At one point this turned his arm massive enough to grab several houses at once.
His powers apparently increased with the number of spirits he consumed.
The full extent of his powers while possessing the Lama is unknown because not even Oool completely understood what he was actually capable of as the Lama.
Height: Unrevealed (7"; by approximation)

History:
(Timespirits#7 (fb) - BTS) - At some point in the past Oool murdered
and/or cannibalized another Yeti. His father hoped that it was only a
unique incident.
(Timespirits#7) - It wasn't! Oool murdered the last female Yetis and sated his hunger on their flesh. When his father and the other male Yetis discovered what Oool had done, his father regretted ever siring him and tossed him off a mountain to his certain death. Oool was lucky though as a mysterious time-travelling fish created a lake where he could land in. Oool crashed through the ice above the lake and nearly drowned, but the fish pulled him out of the water. The lake disappeared as fast as it had appeared as soon as Oool was on solid ground again. The fish then offered his help to Oool and taught him the secret Oool's father had never told him about the power of a Yeti's hand by leaving the knowledge in his mind by swimming through it. Oool smiled as the fish offered Oool the spirits of the Timespirits after he had taken possession of the Lama. As Oool and the fish made their way to the monastery, the fish heard the Timespirit Doot's scream nearby because he had fallen off the mountain. Oool didn't care and continued on his way to the monastery. Before entering the monastery he broke off an icicle, cut off his right hand and offered it to the Lama, who upon taking it was taken over by Oool, who had transformed his whole body into a spirit form. Oool, now in control of the Lama, then ejected his former Yeti form, which was now possessed by the Lama's spirit. Oool then sent the fish to the Timespirits to tell them that he was eagerly waiting for what they had brought to him (it was Timespirit Cusick's spirit he sought to devour). He told the fish to go through his old village and lure the other Yetis to the Timespirits. The Lama possessed by Oool watched as the Yetis attacked the Timespirits.

(Timespirits#8) - Oool got mad when the Yetis didn't hold the Timespirits for him, but instead pushed them off the mountain, which allowed them to escape. In retaliation for the Timespirits' escape Oool murdered the Yetis and devoured their spirits. The former Lama in Oool's body watched in horror from afar. Oool soon found the Timespirits again, but they were saved by the Lama and taken into a metaphysical realm where Oool could not follow them because he lacked the understanding of the Lama's powers.
Oool returned to the monastery and sought more spirits to finally be able to break free of his physical form. He reached into a fountain in front of a Buddha statue and used his supernatural powers to open a portal above the nearby town where his gigantic fanged and taloned hand emerged to grab part of the town beneath and devour all the spirits within it.
Oool sat down on the Lama's former throne and smiled despite suffering from indigestion by all the spirits he had devoured. He couldn't await devouring the Timespirit Cusick's spirit to become him. The Timespirits and the Lama trapped in Oool's body arrived from the metaphysical realm inside the monastery to confront Oool, who was ready to devour Cusick's body and spirit. The trio fought Oool and trapped him beneath the Lama's throne, but Doot still fell victim to Oool and was devoured. Cusick was unable to stop Doot's end because the fish had eaten the Null Stone, which he could've used to prevent it. Oool still hungered for more spirits and attacked Cusick. The Lama caught the fish, turned it into a knife, cut off his Yeti hand and used it to transfer his spirit into his former body. Inside his original form the Lama fought Oool's spirit and finally expelled it. Oool tried to escape, but the Lama blew up Oool's form to release all the spirits he had devoured. The Lama then led the spirits of Oool and his victims, including Doot, to the afterlife.
Comments: Created by Steve Perry and Tom Yeates.
Earth-616 or not? Timespirits is a creator-owned series, which should make it non-616, but at the same time the main characters did encounter Varnae, who was also created by Steve Perry. There was also a lot of time travel going on with alternate futures and altered timelines. But at the end of the day we don't know whether the story with Oool takes place on 616 or an alternate Earth.
The Yeti race seen in the Timespirits story could be the same as the one encountered centuries ago by Prester John in Fantastic Four I#54.
The fish helping Oool was pretty much the nemesis of the Timespirits at this point and Oool wasn't the first he manipulated to cause death and destruction.
IMHO this series is so underrated and ended far too soon.
