Powers/Abilities: Mega Man is robot with
superhuman strength sufficient to fight hand-to-hand against
superhumanly strong opponents such as the incredible Hulk and others.
He is also equipped with nigh-indestructible armor that allows him to
withstand physical attacks from superhumanly strong opponents that
would likely obliterate an ordinary robot.
Mega Man's arm is capable of
transforming into the powerful Mega Buster cannon, through which can
fire short energy bursts or charge up to project larger and stronger
blasts. He also capable of communicating with other computer systems.
He has the inherent ability to
copy and utilize a single ability or power from his defeated opponents.
For example, known copied abilities that he has utilized are:
Height: Unrevealed (approximately 4'4")
Weight: Unrevealed (approximately 230 lbs)
Eyes: Blue
Hair: Brown
History:
(Video Game Super Stars: Marvel
vs. Capcom action figure line - War
Machine vs. Mega Man 2-Pack card back - BTS) - Having no son of his
own, genius robotics scientist Dr. Light created a robot in the form of
a young boy that he named Rock. When Dr. Light's nemesis, Dr. Wily,
stole the technical data and blueprints to create an army of evil
robots, Dr. Light reprogrammed Rock into the armored defender dubbed
Mega Man. After a time fighting Dr. Wily's robots, Mega Man was
upgraded yet again to house secret weapons and the ability to summon
armor attachments to temporarily transform himself into the powered-up
Hyper Mega Man.
(Marvel vs. Capcom: Clash of Super
Heroes video game) - Fearful that his consciousness was merging
with that of his foe Magneto, Professor X summoned several heroes of
Earth and extradimensional fighters that some of Earth's heroes had
previously encountered, including the extradimensional robot Mega Man
and some of his robotic allies such as the dog Rush and bird Beat.
(Video Game Super Stars: Marvel vs. Capcom action figure line - War Machine vs. Mega Man 2-Pack card back - BTS) - The dark side of Professor X's consciousness ultimately manifested itself as the psychic entity Onslaught, who forced the warriors from both universes to battle for the survival of their respective universes.
(Video Game Super Stars: Marvel vs. Capcom action figure line - War Machine vs. Mega Man 2-Pack card back) - During the subsequent battles, Mega Man faced off against War Machine and others.

(Marvel vs. Capcom:
Clash of Super Heroes
video game) - Fighting his way through
heroes and villains from both universes to make his way to Onslaught,
Mega Man at first thought Onslaught was a large robot created by his
nemesis Dr. Wily but Onslaught quickly corrected Mega Man, explaining
that he was not from Mega Man's world. After Mega Man helped defeat
Onslaught's armored humanoid form, Onslaught grew to gigantic size but
Mega Man again aided in battling Onslaught. Upon Onslaught's defeat and
the dispersal of the psychic energy that composed him, Mega Man copied
Onslaught's powers and learned how to utilize Onslaught's Magnetic
Shockwave attack. His fellow robot Roll soon communicated with Dr.
Light, claiming that she had beaten Mega Man to defeating Onslaught,
and Light upgraded Roll to transform her into Hyper Roll, leaving
behind a disappointed Mega Man to bend a knee and shed a tear.

(Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade
Classics#1) - After the magic using Spiral brought several Earth
villains over to Mega Man's home dimension, magically disguised as
heroes, Mega Man joined several heroes from his home world in traveling
to the home dimension of the warriors he had previously encountered.
There, he joined his world's heroes in striking at the other heroes in
retaliation for invading their world but as the fight progressed, Mega
Man and the others began to realize that the "heroes" attacking their
world didn't exactly match the ones they were familiar with. They soon
used a demonic crystal ball acquired by the pirate Ruby Heart to view
their home world and the X-Men's Psylocke used her telepathic powers to
learn of Spiral's involvement. Deducing that someone had to be pulling
Spiral's strings, the two world's heroes tracked the magical energy
connected to Spiral to Latveria, where they battled the masterminds
behind the attack: Doctor Doom and M. Bison. After Doom and Bison
unleashed the godlike Thanos and Shin Akuma to double-cross one
another, Mega Man aided several heroes in fighting Akuma but Akuma and
Thanos quickly grew out of control and Doom and Bison were forced to
work with the assembled heroes to banish Akuma and Thanos to a pocket
universe. Following the banishment, Mega Man joined the allies from his
home world in playing video games with the Earth heroes at Stark Tower,
where Mega Man used his robot abilities to communicate with the video
game system. Captain Commando accused Mega Man of cheating but a
smiling Mega Man remarked that it wasn't his fault the video game
system didn't like the Captain.
(Marvel vs. Capcom 2: New
Age of
Heroes video game) - Two years following the defeat of
Onslaught, the mysterious Abyss entity shrouded the planet in dark
energy that destroyed plant and animal life, and Ruby Heart
summoned Mega Man and numerous other heroes from his dimension and the
Earth dimension to aid in defeating Abyss. Teaming up with several of
the assembled heroes (and villains when necessary), Mega Man helped
defeat Abyss and the assembled warriors escaped Abyss' domain using
Ruby Heart's flying pirate ship. The heroes left Abyss' cracked
spherical form with Ruby Heart and returned to their respective worlds.
(Ultimate Marvel vs.
Capcom 3
video game - Nova's ending) - After aiding the defeat of the the world
devourer Galactus, spacefaring hero Nova thought about the joy he felt
being part of the Nova Corps so he decided to form the MEGA Nova Corps
comprised of Mega Man, Roll, Beat, the futuristic robot Zero and the
mysterious robot "Proto Man."
(Ultimate Marvel vs. Capcom 3 video
game
- Thor's ending) - Following the defeat of Galactus, the thunder
god Thor returned to his home dimension of Asgard and asked his fellow
Asgardian Heimdall to keep an eye on the other Earth. As Heimdall did
as instructed, he witnessed Mega Man, the street fighter Ryu and the
succubus Morrigan Aensland.
Comments: Created by the Capcom video game
team (see Appearances list for list
of the creative team involved).
The Toy Biz Marvel vs. Capcom
action figure line specifically mentions Marvel and Capcom being
separate universes but Spider-Verse I#2 shows that the entire reality
(and by default the universes/dimensions contained within it)
is contained within at least one, if not multiple, arcade games
playable on Earth-616. So I'm leaning towards them being two universes
(not realities)
contained within a single overall reality, similar to how the entirety
of Reality-9602
(well, and the realities associated with it, such as Reality-12772,
Reality-18264, Reality-23422, Reality-81513, Reality-89326,
Reality-96446 & Reality-97061, to name a few) is contained within
Reality-616 in an artifact in Dr.
Strange's Sanctum Sanctorum. The Mega Man and
his related characters seen in the Marvel
vs.
Capcom video game series are not the same Mega Man
characters seen in the Mega Man 1-11
video
games. That would be the Mega Man of a different reality in a different
Multiverse, a prime example of this being how the Mega Man of those
games was never part of the MEGA Nova Corps nor did he crossover with
Marvel characters. Hence, the events of those
video games are not included in this profile, only the appearances
within Capcom's Marvel video games. Additionally, Mega Man appears on
the wall of fallen heroes in Ultimate
Marvel vs. Capcom 3 Days of Future Past stage but this would
be
the Mega Man of an alternate future (possibly an Earth-811 counterpart)
and not the Earth-30847 Mega Man.
Why yes,
Mega Man's brother Proto Man IS where my
screenname comes from! Speaking of Mega Man's siblings, Roll and Proto
Man are never identified in the Marvel
vs.
Capcom series as being Mega Man's siblings but most
things in the Marvel vs. Capcom
mirror that of the main Mega Man
series (see comment below in the
Proto Man subprofile regarding his name)
so it's a probable assumption that they are also Mega Man's
siblings on Earth-30847 as well. Speaking of Proto Man, the image
included in the subprofile is an image of Proto Man in his MEGA Nova
Corps uniform. I've attached an image of the normal-looking Proto Man
from the regular Mega Man
video
game series to the left here but please note that this is technically
an image of another reality's Proto Man, though it's very likely he
looks the same on Earth-30847 when he isn't in his Nova Corps uniform.
Other
Mega Man
related characters seen on Earth-30847 such as Roll, Tron Bonne,
Servbot and Zero are big enough that they're best left for their own
profiles.
The
Marvel
vs. Capcom Fighting Collection: Arcade Classics#1 comic book
must take place between Marvel vs.
Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes and Marvel
vs. Capcom 2: New Age of Heroes.
It appears to be a standalone story. Yes, characters from Marvel
vs. Capcom 2 are in the
comic book but Wolverine is surprised at seeing Ruby Heart's flying
pirate ship, suggesting that he is seeing it for the first time. In
addition, some characters don't appear to be familiar with others. For
example, many of the Capcom characters aren't familiar with Spiral or
her powers, which would make sense because they had not encountered her
prior to Marvel vs. Capcom 2.
While the front cover refers to the comic as Marvel vs. Capcom Fighting
Collection: Arcade Classics#1, the indicia on the inside front cover
refers to the comic as "Custom Capcom 2024 Comic#1."
This profile was completed on 09/23/2026 but its
publication was delayed, as it was intended for the Appendix's 25th
anniversary celebratory event.
