(Power of Prime#2/2 (fb)) -
Danielle apparently wandered onto the scene just after the ultra
Jefferson Kotto had slain his perceived friend-turned-betrayer,
Ortiz. Soon after, Kotto was beset by 17 rogue policemen. (Power of Prime#3/2 (fb)) - Although taking multiple bullets, Hellblade continued to live and took down the cops. He then confronted Danielle. (Curse of Rune#4/2 (fb)) - The slaughter numbed Danielle, but nothing made her turn away, and instead she moved toward Hellblade. As the surviving police fired multiple bullets through Hellblade, he felt like he was being set free. A stray bullet passed through Danielle's chest, and she and Hellblade were somehow linked.
|
(Curse of Rune#4/2 (fb) - BTS) - Rather than dying, Danielle was
transformed from a young girl to an adult (or at least late teen) woman.
However, the bullet wound remained open and unhealing.
(Prime I#26/2) - Following Hellblade
as he rushed through the Florida Everglades, Danielle tried to keep up,
as he told her that he knew she could catch him. He promised her that
when she had lived through the experience with him, that she would
understand the miracle of the their redemption and their dark purpose,
and that danger and desire stemmed from one seed.
She told Hellblade to wait for her, and
when he ignored her request, she asked him to at least tell her why she
was so hungry that it was scary.
Hellblade instead told of her of his
origins before commenting on when they had met, asking her if he had
seen her before or after the men who would kill her.
(Power of Prime#2/2) - Having
brought Danielle some raw meat, he told her to feed on the blood and
spit out the meat.
(Power of Prime#2/2) - Asking his Danielle could keep up with him, Hellblade told her that her new body was a revelation. When she asked if they had brought any food, he told her that they had brought the hunt and that survival was in her, like blood. Danielle contended that she didn't even like camping or bugs, and that she had thought about eating a Styrofoam cup (presumably as opposed to having to hunt a living being).
When he reminded her about the raw meat and told her that until she learned to feed on blood and spit out the meat, her hunger would own her, Danielle was disgusted, noting that this was not the circus anymore but rather real life, and that he was crazy. She then reminded her that he had told her that he would get her home.
Hellblade then told her to remember the night that they had met, the events of which he began to recount.
(Power of Prime#3/2) - As Danielle asked when they would get out of this muck and reminded Hellblade that she was hungry, he continued to recount the events of the night they had met.
Danielle told him that she didn't remember the events and that he was crazy. As Hellblade countered that he was the voice of sanity, she insisted that her daddy knew he was lost, that he would come and that she would go home where there was real food, and that he would "go with the monsters to monster jail."
Hellblade advised her that that child was dead and that she was no natural woman, either. "Look at yourself, Danielle. Convince me -- if you can -- just who is going to come for a thing of death like you!"
(Curse of Rune#4/2) - Initially
denouncing Hellblade, noting that even though he had rescued her, he was
still a bad man.
However, she eventually accepted that she was something different, with a body of a woman and the still open bullet wound. She noted that it didn't hurt, and she appreciated that they were dead. She acknowledged that she wasn't going home, and as it was hot and sweaty there, they weren't in Heaven. Hellblade confirmed, "Quite the opposite. Miami."
Hellblade then shared that he had never
previously encountered an innocent worth saving, but that when the two
of them had died together, he had realized that he had wanted to live
and to spare things like her from things like him or worse.
He further related that while she was
never going home, this was her new home. He believed in her, and they
had hunting to do: "Blood work to
dedicate to you...Angel."
Danielle considered that she was just a girl, even though she was all grown up now, and she had the bullet hole. Although scared, she told him she believed, too, but she wondered where they were going from there.

(All-New Exiles#6 (fb) -
BTS) - Hellblade checked Danielle into the Dolce Vita motel,
gave her a secret knock for which she would open the door, and
then he led the Exiles team with which he had joined to an
apparently deserted underground fortress; he was apparently
unaware that it was inhabited by the monstrous Moloch. (All-New Exiles#6 - BTS) - Moloch incapacitated Hellblade with a dream/delusion of an idealized life (mirroring Reality-69335), in which his unpowered self was married to Danielle and had a daughter, Amy. With Amy's guidance, Kotto appreciated the false nature of this existence, threw off Moloch's influence, and incapacitated Moloch. (All-New Exiles#6) - When Hellblade returned to the hotel and did the secret knock, Danielle let him in, asking where he'd been, why he'd left her there stranded, and when were they going to do something. Telling her to shut off the TV, Hellblade briefly considered that since she still looked normal and wasn't a fugitive, she could try to have a life. However, he further appreciated that a dead teenager would have a hard time living a normal life. After Danielle commented on his silence and noted she had been worried about him, Hellblade decided to tell her about the Exiles whom he wanted her to meet and that she could consider them friends of the family. |
(All-New Exiles#7 (fb) -
BTS) - Seeking to bond with a new team, the young Cayman was
duped by some cyborg-brain creature into assaulting the Exiles. (All-New Exiles#7) - Watching from a distance after the Exiles first encountered Cayman, Danielle told Hellblade that this would be a good time to introduce her to the Exiles as he had promised. She was eager to have friends instead of having to hide out in the hotel, watching TV and eating out of the vending machine: "I mean, I didn't come out here just to get bugs in her hair." Hellblade advised her that even
if she covered up her bullet wound, they were still going to
realize she wasn't normal when they appreciated her speed and
strength, and he told her that he was trying to set it up right
so that she wouldn't have to feel them be afraid of her for all
the wrong reasons. Grabbing a nearby snake, Hellblade reminded
her that he had been trying to teach her the art of the hunt and
assured her that she would learn that hunger was an eloquent
teacher. After Cayman challenged the
Exiles anew, Danielle urged Hellblade to help Amber Hunt, he
initially advised Danielle about strategies and warned her that
she could die for real. After the Exiles defeated Cayman, the
cyborg-brain creature drugged the Exiles, weakening them.
Unaffected by their undead nature, Hellblade incapacitated the
cyborg-brain creature, after which Danielle used her powers to
help the Exiles recover from their drugging. After Strike asked
if he should know her, Hellblade introduced Danielle to the
Exiles, telling them that she was with him. Ultimately, the Exiles appreciated that Cayman was merely trying to prove himself to them, and they accepted him as a member. |
