Excalibur is near indestructible and has a mystical bond with wielder
King Arthur. The blade hums when danger is near and can illuminate. It
responds to Arthur's will and provides an intuitive bond in its use as a
weapon. Excalibur can discharge directed short-range explosive energy
bolts at the will of Arthur, but requires about a minute to recharge
between bursts. Ultra-sharp, it can slash through thick tree trunks with
enough effort from the wielder.
History:
(King Arthur and the Knights of Justice#2 (fb) - BTS) -
The exact origins of Excalibur of Earth-93121 are unknown, but it was
used by King Arthur in the medieval era to defend his country from evil,
as well as unite the people and the Knights of the Round of the Table.
(King Arthur and the Knights of Justice#2 (fb)) - The evil
sorceress Morgana
crafted and an army of animated rocks led by Lord
Viper to battle King Arthur and his knights. Morgana hexed Merlin,
dampening his magics, and Arthur and his knights were exiled. The
whereabouts of the sword were unrevealed.
(King Arthur and the Knights of Justice#2) - Merlin pulled
12 new recruits from the future (12 sports champions from the
contemporary era American football team the Knights) and gained their
(reluctant) consent to join him in defending Camelot. Merlin magically
summoned new individual armor for the new knights, with Arthur King as
the new King
Arthur and Excalibur mystically appeared in his hand. Now called
the Knights
of Justice, they attacked Morgana's besieging rock warriors;
Arthur intuitively wielded Excalibur. Warlord Blackwing
was slashed into rubble using Excalibur. The new Knights considered
their next move, but Excalibur hummed a warning as the powerful Warlord
Lucan
attacked. Near overwhelmed, Arthur sliced a giant tree at its base that
crushed their foe.
(King Arthur and the Knights of Justice#3) - Excalibur
appeared to act as a communicator with Merlin, showing his visage.
Merlin advised Arthur to use his shield to summon the Dragon
of Justice to fly to Morgana's mountainous lair. Once there, the
sword illuminated the path in the tunnels and Arthur freed captive
friends and Queen Guinevere. Morgana's evil warriors appeared but Arthur
quickly slashed them into rubble using Excalibur. They chanced upon
Morgana, who set more warriors upon them. Arthur used Excalibur to shoot
a blast that collapsed the cave roof and buried their foes. Only Viper
was left; Arthur taunted Viper to allow Excalibur to recharge and then
blasted Viper backward into fallen rocks. The heroes then escaped back
to Camelot.

Earth-93121 is the Marvel Comics adaptation of the "King Arthur and the Knights of Justice" cartoon (1992-1993), which also featured a video game spin-off for Super NES (1995).
The exact name of the original King Arthur (if he existed at all) is contested, but academically the most widely accepted is Artorius. Despite this, he has been dubbed Arthur Pendragon in popular lore. However, this is an alternate Earth based on a kid's cartoon show, so maybe the common answer applies.
