Powers/Abilities: The Spaceknight Rom, viewed by his peers as "the greatest of the Spaceknights," could lift around 15 tons, but Rom took note that the second-generation Spaceknights were explicitly designed to be more powerful than the first in every way, and Dominor was reputed to be the greatest of them all. The trade-off for this boost in power, however, was surrendering more of their humanity.

Presuming the process of creating the second-generation Spaceknights bore similarity to that of the first, it may be surmised that those selected underwent surgery in which much of their body, including their brain, was transplanted into a cybernetic exoskeleton, in the form of an electrically maintained flexible metallic armor made of nearly indestructible Plandanium, onto which their autonomic and central nervous systems were "genetically grafted". This exoskeleton contained fluid "motors" which endowed the Spaceknights with their great strength.

The Plandanium armor proved capable of withstanding temperatures ranging from perhaps 8000 degrees Fahrenheit to -350 degrees Fahrenheit (or possibly somewhat lower on the high end of the temperature range), and was a hermetically sealed, vacuum tight, seamless shell (including articulation). The armor may have been capable of withstanding ballistic impacts of up to large antitank weaponry, and pressures of up to 40 pounds per square inch (the equivalent of the blast effects of 1000 pounds of TNT at the range of 100 feet) without damage or impairment of functions. The armor was also designed with numerous points of redundancy as a precaution against the body losing various abilities through damage or malfunction.

The Spaceknights' brains were augmented by organic computer assemblies and kept alive in a blood-like fluid that circulated through their transplanted vital organs to provide essential enzymes and vitamins with trace elements. These organs were in turn augmented by automated micro-functioning circuitry. Certain components of the "blood's" plasma-like fluid were added to by automatic machinery that required occasional replenishment; this eliminated the need for breathing, enabling them to survive indefinitely in extreme environments such as outer space. Large power requirements made use of a meson/anti-meson thermo-electric battery which can operate under normal conditions for five Earth centuries. The portions of the subjects' bodies which were not used in the conversion process were cryogenically preserved on Galador, with the intent of eventually restoring them to their original humanoid forms.

Spaceknights were also equipped with rocket pods mounted in twin nacelles on their back. The pods were electrically powered, low-density plasma engines with sufficient velocity to achieve solar system escape velocity (36 mile per second, out of atmosphere). In the case of Rom, he could fly through atmosphere at a maximum speed of Mach 4 (about 3000 miles per hour) before heat buildup from friction caused detrimental effects to his external sensor arrays. Cool atmospheric re-entry was achieved through rocket-assisted deceleration.

It is unrevealed the extent to which the second-generation Spaceknights, and Dominor in particular, exceeded these limitations.

Abilities unique to Dominor included projection of several forms of energy from his gauntlets, such as beams of the "razor-force," which could cut through Spaceknight armor, and destabilizer beams which, when targeted at an opponent's brain, could send them into uncontrollable seizures. He could also fire a beam from his video-receptors which unleashed a torrent of pleasurable memories upon striking a target's video-receptors, totally overwhelming and paralyzing them until the effects wore off.

Dominor possessed keen senses, leading him to fully anticipate the arrival of Rom in his Dark Tower lair without even needing to turn around.

Dominor also possessed the means to tamper with other Spaceknights' functionality, as he demonstrated when he rigged the "ring of power" sequence launched by the other second-generation Spaceknights to destroy them all upon activation.

History:
(Rom#73 (fb) - BTS) - After Galactus had displaced Galador into an unrevealed region of space the prior year, the Galadorian leadership despaired that it would take eons for their Spaceknight protectors to find the planet again, leaving the planet defenseless in the interim. Thus they resolved to create a new, more powerful generation of Spaceknights to serve as the planet's guardians. However, this new breed of Spaceknights...

(Rom#74 (fb) - BTS) - ... led by Dominor...

(Rom#73 (fb) - BTS) - ...instead engineered a bloody coup to take total control of the planet for themselves. After meeting with resistance, the renegade Spaceknights embarked on a campaign of genocide against the planet's entire humanoid population. Within weeks, the humanoid population was decimated, leaving only a scattered few survivors hiding underground.

(Rom#74 (fb) - BTS) - Unbeknownst to the other Spaceknights, Dominor planned to repopulate Galador with the supposedly superior Spaceknights, once they'd reclaimed their humanity.

Additionally, Dominor kept his remains hidden in a location outside of the Hall of Science where the other Spaceknights' organic remains were kept.

(Rom#73 - BTS) - Transported at her request to her beloved Rom's home planet of Galador by the mysterious entity known as the Beyonder, Brandy Clark was shocked to come upon the shattered ruins of a once great Galadorian city. Plunging into despair at her dreams of paradise being dashed, she was almost taken unaware by an attack from above at the hands of the second-generation Spaceknight known as Lightningbolt. With the aid of a Horn of Heaven recovered from a slain member of the Angel Elite, as well as the timely intervention of members of the Galadorian resistance, Lightningbolt was brought down. Brandy was taken to meet the leader of the Galadorian resistance, Ariane, who explained what had happened on Galador.

(Rom#73 - BTS) - Brandy Clark proposed that the resistance launch an assault on the Hall of Science, in a gambit to capture the cryogenics chamber where the humanoid remains of all Spaceknights were kept, the one key to restoring their humanity. Brandy reasoned that with this asset under resistance control, the renegade Spaceknights would be forced into negotiations and have to abandon their genocidal campaign.

Unfortunately, the plot did not work as planned. Although Brandy and the resistance successfully made it to the chamber, followed quickly by the sudden arrival of Rom and his Spaceknight Squadron, the second-in-command of the renegades, a Spaceknight named Heatwave, opted to destroy the cryogenic storage of all the Spaceknights himself in order to demonstrate how little he regarded even his own humanity.

(Rom#74) - After a brutal battle in which the remaining humanoid population of Galador was wiped out, the Spaceknight Squadron retreated into hiding with Brandy, leaving the second-generation Spaceknights to return to their Dark Tower headquarters and report on the situation to their ultimate leader, Lord Dominor. Dominor was furious to learn Heatwave had destroyed the Spaceknights' humanoid remains, but quickly realized there was nothing he could do about it for the moment. He attempted to urge his followers to hunt down the last remainining human on Galador, Brandy Clark, but the fanatical Spaceknights dismissed her relevance, instead clamoring to complete the destruction of the planet itself, seeing it as the last vestige of their humanoid weakness.

Meanwhile, the Spaceknight Squadron resolved to launch an attack on the Dark Tower itself, with Rom leading the charge in seeking out the Lord of the Tower. In the uppermost turret, he found Dominor waiting for him. What he did not expect was for Dominor to offer him a deal. Dominor proudly confessed to ordering the death of every man, woman, and child on Galador. He argued that he had been justified in seeking to wipe out what he saw as inferior stock, and he revealed his previous plot to repopulate Galador with the supposedly superior Spaceknights, once they'd reclaimed their humanity. Unfortunately, Heatwave, who had not been privy to Dominor's plan, had disrupted matters with his destruction of the cryogenics chamber.

Dominor further revealed that had kept his remains hidden somewhere else, and thus he was now the only being left on Galador with the ability to reclaim his humanity. The deal Dominor now offered to Rom was to save Galador from further depredations at the hands of the renegade Spaceknights, in exchange for Rom delivering to Dominor what he needed to repopulate the planet: Brandy Clark. Heatwave arrived just as this offer was made and accused Dominor of collaborating with the enemy; Dominor quickly claimed that he was merely challenging Rom to a duel to the death, as was befitting a warrior. He then quietly reminded Rom that if he wanted Galador and Brandy to survive, Rom must surrender his love... and his life.

(Rom#75) - Rom and Dominor engaged in a titanic battle, with Dominor all the while urging Rom to accept defeat and tell him where Brandy was. Rom ultimately rejected Dominor's indecent proposal, concluding Brandy would rather die than submit to him. Heroically, Rom held out against the more powerful Dominor's brutal attacks, and finally downed him by unleashing the full power of his famed neutralizer weapon. Heatwave declared Rom the victor, and offered him one more chance to join the renegade Spaceknights.

When Rom again refused, the renegade Spaceknights decided it was time to unleash their ultimate power, joining hands (or cannons) in a circle together, a formation known as a Ring of Power, which they claimed would bring about the destruction of Galador. However, like so many plans in recent times, it did not go down as expected. There was an explosion, but the only lives it claimed were the very Spaceknights who formed the Ring of Power, as well as destroying the top of the tower.

Dominor then gloated that he had preemptively sabotaged their Ring of Power as a failsafe against the Spaceknights betraying him. He again demanded that Rom turn over Brandy, which led Rom to inquire how Dominor had kept his humanity safely hidden away. Dominor began to brag that he had kept it preserved in the base of his Throne of Power... until realizing that too had been destroyed in the explosion. In a fit of despair, he wrested Rom's neutralizer from him, turned it on himself, and fired from point-blank range, declaring that he preferred death to being denied his dreams of conquest.
