Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Swamp-Buggy is a large vehicle designed for travel on water or land in swamp-like conditions. A radar-activated alarm alerts passengers to approaching enemies. An automatic shocker emits electrical bursts at invaders within the vehicle's vicinity. The vehicle can also fire nets to snare nearby targets. An under-water scanner enables the operators to view conditions beneath the vehicle.
History:
(Strange Tales I#146) - Having tracked A.I.M. to a headquarters inside of a swamp, Nick Fury led a team of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents to the base aboard S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Swamp-Buggy. A.I.M. sent some of their ampbibian Synthoids to attack the vehicle, but the Swamp-Buggy's radar-activated alarm warned the agents and they used the vehicle's automatic shocker to stun the Synthoids, then snared them in a net and brought them aboard to study. Using the under-water scanner, Nick Fury observed some of the Synthoids had avoided being shocked and were swimming away. Realizing this meant they could follow the androids back to A.I.M.'s base, Fury and his fellow agents donned wetsuits and pursued the Synthoids.
