History:
(Peter Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham I#8/2 (fb) - BTS) - Silver Squirrel's origins are unrevealed. He wielded the incredible force of the Power Cosmic. But despite Silver Squirrel's reprehensible attitude, he was admired by the omniscient Watchdog for the potential good he could do.
(Peter
Porker, the Spectacular Spider-Ham I#8/2) - Silver Squirrel became
aware that the Watchdog was secretly observing him from the Earth's
moon via the Watchdog's Orb of Omniscience. The delinquent immediately
teleported himself there and, quickly fed up with the Watchdog's
verbose praise, blasted him with the Power Cosmic. Silver Squirrel
zipped down to Earth on his surfboard, relishing the opportunity to
irresponsibly do whatever he felt like with his power. He chanced upon
the ancient Egyptian monuments of the Sphinx and Great Pyramid, and
brought them to life to stomp on the locals. The Watchdog arrived to
appeal to the Squirrel's potential for nobility, but was blasted away
again. Silver Squirrel next animated the Eiffel Tower and Arc de
Triomphe in Paris for similar chaos. Again the Watchdog teleported in,
pleading for the Squirrel to stop, but was again blasted. Enjoying
annoying the Watchdog and knowing the Watchdog was duty-bound not to
interfere, the Silver Squirrel quickly surfed to New York City but was
stopped by the now angry Watchdog, who used his own Power Cosmic to
convert the hooligan into an unmoving water fountain statue.
(BTS) - Possibly as a result of Secret Wars III,
Silver Squirrel was released from confinement, and became less manic
and dangerous.
(Spider-Ham: Hollywood May-Ham) - Silver Squirrel
enjoyed sunbathing next to Sub-Marsupial on the beach in Los Angelfish.
Comments:
Created by Mike Mellor & Steve Mellor. Based on the character
created by
Stan Lee and Jack Kirby.
Silver Squirrel is, of course, a cartoon parody (and hence the Earth-8311 version) of Earth-616's Silver Surfer (Norrin Radd). I think "Nuttin Radd" would be a good Earth-8311 version of his real name.
"Ahh Shaddup!" was a popular catchphrase used by
voice-over Mel Blanc in Warner Bros. cartoons. Silver Squirrel uses the
same basic dismissive refrain.
It's unrevealed if Galactypus has any relation to the Silver Squirrel (the way their counterparts Galactus and Silver Surfer have on Earth-616).
In their cameo in in Hollywood May-Ham (2022), Silver Squirrel and Sub-Marsupial sunbathed on the beach in a head-to-toe position similar to that of Northstar and Hector in the Marvel Swimsuit Special #4 (1995). Nothing to get Defensive about.
I'm not 100% sure if Scholastic's Spider-Ham graphic
novels fit into Earth-8311 continuity, but I'll leave it in until it's
otherwise stated.
