History:
(D.P.7 I#21 (fb) - BTS) - At some point after discovering he had
paranormal abilities (a result of the so-called "White Event" caused by
the Starbrand), Naslund placed himself under the care of the Clinic for Paranormal Research in Wisconsin.
(D.P.7 I#21) - After former clinic staffer Abner Heath alerted the media and the police to the true nature of the Clinic, the local sheriff and deputies from his office came to investigate the Clinic. When Bazooka reacted violently to the deputies' presence and killed one of them, a conflict soon escalated throughout the Clinic as the deputies began opening fire on the Clinic's patients. Naslund attacked one of the deputies, knocking him through a door into a room where a nurse was caring for the comatose Harlan Hackbarth. When the nurse asked Naslund to explain himself, he explained the police were trying to "overrun" the Clinic and that they were defending their "turf." He then called out "Remember the Alamo!" The siege of the Clinic continued as the patients killed many of the deputies while the deputies in turn killed or injured several patients. When the security guard Curtis Smith ("Stalagmite") was injured, Naslund carried him away from the battle.
The siege finally ended when all of the deputies were either dead or incapacitated. While Naslund used a first aid kit to tend to Curtis' injuries, the Clinic's director Tanis Newhouse asked Curtis to explain what had happened. When she asked how many of the sixteen policemen were dead, Curtis answered "most of 'em probably" then he asked Naslund to collect the bodies and haul them to the main floor of the Clinic. The deaths of the deputies, patients and Clinic staffers caused the Clinic to be permanently shut down.
Comments: Created by Mark Gruenwald, Paul Ryan and Danny Bulanadi.
It's a bit weird that Naslund's only appearance is the story where the Clinic was broken up. The fact that we'd hadn't seen him previously suggests he was a very recent addition to the patients since there had been plenty of stories where all the able-bodied patients gathered (most prominently in D.P.7 I#17). Naslund probably joined after the opening pages of D.P.7 I#18 when the main cast went to the Pitt, which resulted in the Clinic being out-of-focus for the next two months.
Immediately following D.P.7 I#21, Bazooka turned up in the U.S. Army due to the draft. One can assume that all the adult male paranormals who were at the Clinic when it was closed were likewise drafted into the army but it wasn't confirmed whether Naslund was one of them.
In the few panels in which he appeared, Naslund's eye color was never clearly visible.
