History:
(
Marvel Graphic Novel#3: The Metamorphosis Odyssey Book Three: Dreadstar (fb) - BTS) - Sgt. Milnor served in the Monarchy's 2nd Royal Division.milnor-sgt-monarchy-8116-stretcher

(Marvel Graphic Novel#3 (fb) - BTS) - Milnor served under Captain Dreadstar -- who had secretly infiltrated the Monarchy in order to slay King Nellor -- on the small, mineral-rich satellite known as Jaxon's Tomb, at least. There they fought against the Instrumentality's 7th Sacred Division, who also occupied that satellite.

Dreadstar considered him to be one of the best marines he had ever fought beside.

(Marvel Graphic Novel#3 (fb) - BTS) - Milnor's son was being called up to service and was supposed to be assigned to the 2nd Royal Division.

(Marvel Graphic Novel#3 (fb) - BTS) - Milnor heard scuttlebutt (rumors) that Dreadstar was being transferred off of Jaxon's Tomb.

(Marvel Graphic Novel#3 (fb) - BTS) - The "Instys" sprung on exploratory raid over on Hill 28. Milnor's troops fought them off, but not before Milnor took a uniformly fatal radium laser shot in the leg.

Milnor was carried on a stretcher by a pair of Monarchy robots (or cyborgs) to Medi-Camp 7.milnor-sgt-monarchy-8116-face-reclining

(Marvel Graphic Novel#3) - Carried on a stretcher by a pair of Monarchy Medi-Robs, Milnor informed Dreadstar what had happened, confirming that it was a radium laser as he could feel its gamma charge already burning through his system. He further noted that he was being taken to Medi-Camp 7 so he could "crap out in a nice clean bed out of sight of the troops." Dreadstar expressed his sympathies and told Milnor that he was one of the best marines beside whom he had ever fought.

Milnor thanked his captain but also noted that he did not stop these "rust buckets" just to fish for compliments. Milnor asked Dreadstar about rumors of his transfer, and Dreadstar confirmed that he would be reporting for duty at the Royal Palace's Military Liaison Office the next week. Dreadstar further commented that this was because he had been achieving too many victories rather than standoffs and that the admiralty was shipping him out before they actual started winning the war.

Milnor agreed that the higher ups did seem to like the idea of the war ever ending. Dreadstar noted that the war would never end unless someone did something. Milnor replied that there was nothing anyone could do and that he would realize and come to accept that after he had been in the war a while longer.

Milnor then told Dreadstar that his son was being called up to service and was supposed to be assigned to the 2nd Royal Division, and that he had been hoping that Dreadstar could show him the ropes. Dreadstar told him that perhaps the war would be run a little differently by the time his son arrived, and that he had plans for what he could do inside the royal palace.

Sitting up, Milnor questioned Dreadstar's plans, noting that he sounded like a man up to no good. Dreadstar told him "Something that should have been done over two centuries ago, something I can't explain in front of the Medi-Robs." Milnor replied that as a marine, he was supposed to be duty-bound to report to command anyone making noises as suspicious as the ones Dreadstar was making; however, Milnor concluded that he was a father before he was a marine, so all he said was, "Good luck, Captain."

Dreadstar replied, "Goodbye, Sergeant" and then departed.

Dreadstar / Reality-8116 primer

I'm not really sure how the Monarchy's military works out, but Dreadstar referred to Milnor as a marine, and Dreadstar also commanded the 1st Nova Squadron, which was part of the Monarchy's Imperial Navy.

Having dedicated two years of his life to get the chance to get close to King Nellor in order to avenge his wife, Delilah, and the People, Dreadstar took a massive risk in hinting at his plans to Milnor. Maybe Dreadstar really knew Milnor and was sure he would not expose him and/or he felt that Milnor would be dead before he could do anything and/or he would have been willing to kill Milnor if needed.
I suppose he kept it vague enough to not alert the Medi-Robs...even though he said right in front of them that he could not say what it was in front of them...

CLARIFICATIONS:
Sgt. Milnor
should be distinguished from:

Lt. Halea

milnor-sgt-monarchy-8116-halea-fullmilnor-sgt-monarchy-8116-halea-face     Lt. Halea served under Captain Dreadstar in the Monarchy's 2nd Royal Division

(
Marvel Graphic Novel#3) - After Dreadstar left Sgt. Milnor, Lt. Halea approached his captain and reported that his plans to retake section seven had been a total success, and that the Instrumentality forces there were in full retreat.

Dreadstar asked how their troops had fared, and Halea replied overall they had suffered very light casualties...except First Nova Squadron who led the advanced assault wave and were wiped out to the man.

Lt. Halea then asked if that would be all, and Dreadstar quietly replied, "No...not quite..."

--Marvel Graphic Novel#3: The Metamorphosis Odyssey Book Three: Dreadstar

Note: You can get the story from reading the original story and/or the profiles on Delilah, the People, and Lt. Sandorz, but First Nova Squadron had slain Dreadstar's wife and the People whom he had befriended. This was the reason Dreadstar had infiltrated the Monarchy, to avenge his wife by slaying First Nova Squadron as well as King Nellor.

Monarchy's Medi-Robs

milnor-sgt-monarchy-8116-stretcherrobotmilnor-sgt-monarchy-8116-medi-rob_face      Monarchy medical robots presumably programmed with various medical techniques and having access to unspecified medical technology and supplies, the Medi-Robs were confirmed to aid the marines of the 2nd Royal Division. They presumably aided other military forces and likely people throughout the Monarchy's empire.

They did not seem to react to non-medical needs or discussions occurring around them.

The origins and creator(s) are unrevealed.

(Marvel Graphic Novel#3) - A pair of Medi-Robs silently carried the mortally wounded Sgt. Milnor via stretcher toward Medi-Camp 7 to die. They paused for Milnor to speak to Captain Dreadstar. They did not react even as Dreadstar and Milnor discussed Dreadstar's vague plans to end the Monarchy-Instrumentality war.

Monarchy's 2nd Royal Division

milnor-sgt-monarchy-8116-jaxonstombThe 2nd Royal Division was a military force of the Monarchy.

At some point, Captain Dreadstar achieved command of the division, and at least at some point, they were stationed on the mineral-rich satellite known as Jaxon's Tomb.

There they fought against the Instrumentality's 7th Sacred Division, which also occupied Jaxon's Tomb.

(Marvel Graphic Novel#3: The Metamorphosis Odyssey Book Three: Dreadstar (fb) - BTS) - Dreadstar rose to the rank of captain in the Monarchy's 2nd Royal Division. He considered Sgt. Milnor one of the best marines he had ever fought beside.

Milnor's son was being called up to service and was supposed to be assigned to the 2nd Royal Division.

By this point, Vanth had resolved that while he would indeed kill King Nellor, he would then manipulate his successor, then Prince Gregzor, to end the Instrumentality-Monarchy War.

As Vanth was being too successful and the Monarchy did not actually want to win the war (due to economics), he was reassigned to be serve in the Royal Palace's military liaison office in Jewelcity, Jewelworld, which he would start the next week.

On the planet Jaxon's Tomb, Dreadstar's orders led Monarchy forces to retake section seven and send the Instrumentality forces there into full retreat. Monarchy casualties were very light, except First Nova Squadron who led the advanced assault wave and were wiped out to the man.

Instrumentality forces sprung on exploratory raid over on Hill 28. Milnor's troops fought them off, but not before Sgt. Milnor took a uniformly fatal radium laser shot in the leg.

(Marvel Graphic Novel#3: The Metamorphosis Odyssey Book Three: Dreadstar) - As Medi-Robs transported Sgt. Milnor to Medi-Camp 7, Vanth gave his condolences, noted his respect, and hinted at his plans to end the war.

Considering that he was a father before he was a marine, Milnor chose not to report Dreadstar's plans.

--Marvel Graphic Novel#3: The Metamorphosis Odyssey Book Three: Dreadstar

Note: As far as is known, none of the
2nd Royal Division knew of Dreadstar's agenda to avenge his wife and to slay the First Nova Squadron and King Nellor.

The image is the Monarchy's 2nd Royal Division vs. the Instrumentality's 7th Sacred Division on Jaxon's tomb, but I have no idea who is whom in the image. Beyond Milnor and Halea, it's the only image we have of the 2nd Royal Division, so that's what you get. It will also be the main image in the profile for Jaxon's Tomb.

Sgt. Milnor's son

(Marvel Graphic Novel#3 (fb) - BTS) - Sgt. Milnor's son was called up to service and was supposed to be assigned to the 2nd Royal Division. Sgt. Milnor hoped that Captain Dreadstar could show his son the ropes.

(Marvel Graphic Novel#3 - BTS) - After being mortally wounded by a radium laser, Sgt. Milnor told Dreadstar of his son's planned assignment and noted his disappointment that Dreadstar was being reassigned to serve within the Monarchy's Royal Palace.

After Dreadstar hinted that he was going to bring about the end of the war, Sgt. Milnor considered that while his military duty was to report Dreadstar, he was a father first and a marine second, and so he merely wished Dreadstar good luck.

--Marvel Graphic Novel#3: The Metamorphosis Odyssey Book Three: Dreadstar

Note: Another character that I would love to see touched upon in the current Dreadstar series. Sgt. Milnor died, but perhaps his son survived his time with the 2nd Royal Division?
