Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Metronome Unit devices were sleds designed so the operator could lie on their stomach while operating its controls. Each unit was topped by a giant metronome pendulum which swung back and forth in order to disorient opponents, drawing their attention away from the cannons mounted in the front of the units.
History:
(Strange Tales I#143) - When the Fixer and Mentallo invaded S.H.I.E.L.D.'s Manhattan base, Tony Stark outfitted two S.H.I.E.L.D. agents as a Metronome Unit, supplying each man with his own vehicle. Driving towards the Fixer and Mentallo with their metronomes in motion, they confused the two villains, who weren't certain where to fire. While they were distracted, a force of S.H.I.E.L.D. agents led by Dum Dum Dugan rushed the two villains and defeated them.
