History:
(Invincible Iron Man I#518 (fb) - BTS) - Ezekiel Stane hired some guy to become the new pilot for his Firepower armor to serve in Mandarin's squad of operatives.

(Invincible Iron Man I#513 (fb) - BTS) - He presumably had a bomb implanted in his heart like Mandarin's other operatives.

(Invincible Iron Man I#513) - Mandarin gathered his upgraded Iron Man villains, including Firepower, to tell them about his second phase in their war against Iron Man (Tony Stark).

(Invincible Iron Man I#517) - In international waters near Somalia Firepower aided pirates against the coast guard to help them escape. He shot at the coast guard and was sure he would sink them after two or three more swoops, but Iron Man (Rhodes) interrupted him.

(Invincible Iron Man I#518) - Firepower went after Iron Man, who set the pirates' boat on fire. Iron Man blasted him with electricity and Firepower dropped into the sea. He came back, but Iron Man tackled him into the sea and ripped open his suit underwater. Firepower sunk like a stone into the depths of the ocean while Iron Man returned back to the surface to help the coast guard.

(Invincible Iron Man I#518 - BTS) - Mandarin was informed of Firepower's defeat and was mad.

(Invincible Iron Man I#522) - Mandarin sent Firepower and his other operatives to gather the materials Tony Stark needed to build the Titanomech for Mandarin. Firebrand rode on the back of Firepower, who ended collected minerals in Botswana with Mauler.

Comments: Created by Matt Fraction & Salvador Larroca.

In Invincible Iron Man#518 it was specifically mentioned that this operative was a new guy.

We never saw the new Firepower without his armor and the composition of the armor itself is a mystery. It looks so different from the original Firepower armor that it can't even be compared to it, but maybe they were similar in height and weight.

I am not even 100% sure that the Firepower in #522 was the same as the one last seen in #518 because it seemed like a pretty final end, but maybe Mandarin had him saved to get the armor back. Or maybe just the armor was recovered while the pilot was replaced because the previous one had drowned in #218.
