History:
(
Captain Marvel IV#33 (fb) - BTS) - Reva Centrella apparently lived in Halvacenter on the planet Calculex, presumably with her mate and her daughter (although they could have been separated and/or she could have just been visiting Halvacenter and/or Calculex at the time).

(Captain Marvel  IV#33 (fb) - BTS) - Having been reduced to an immaterial form after escaping the Soul Gem, the Magus (Adam Warlock's dark aspect) traveled to Halvacenter on the planet Calculex and began absorbing the life forces of others, taking that ephemeral energy and converting it to the physical.

(Captain Marvel  IV#33 (fb)) - Reva and apparently at least one other person fled from the mysterious being that was all around them, in the shadows and in the air, watching them.

As it seemed to be under them as well, Reva realized that it "had <them>."

She considered it to be dark and terrifying, and she begged for someone/anyone to keep it away, and then she begged for it not to take her body and/or her soul.

Her last plea before it closed in on her and stole her life essence was to not take her away from her mate and daughter.

(Captain Marvel  IV#33 (fb) - BTS) - Reva Centrella was believed to be the Magus' first victim taken in this fashion.

Reva's corpse was recovered and identified by the local constabulary (despite it appearing to be severely dessicated or otherwise virtually unrecognizable).

Her corpse was placed in a preservation chamber.

As the number of his victims reached dozens and possibly hundreds, although only eleven were had been identified (as Halvacenter was a port city where so many came and went), he became known as the "Lurky Man."centrella-reva-calc-corpse-face

The corpses of the other known victims of the Lurky Man were placed in the same chamber.

(Captain Marvel IV#33 - BTS) - Sensing that Captain Marvel (Genis-Vell) would investigate his murders and commune with Reva's spirit, the Magus sent a message along with instructions to meet him alone, and also told him that he had something Genis wanted: "Or rather...I will. And by now I do."

(Captain Marvel IV#33 (fb) - BTS) - The Magus subsequently abducted Genis' friend and sometime lover Steck'ee, and he included images of him with her in the message for Genis, advising Genis that his cosmic awareness would allow him to be aware of what he would do to Steck'ee if acted contrary to his instructions.

(Captain Marvel IV#33 (fb) - BTS) - Having learned that the "Lurky Man" had abducted his friend and sometime lover Steck'ee, Captain Marvel (Genis-Vell) investigated, and he convinced Constable Pryo to allow him to see the bodies of the Lurky Man's victims.

(Captain Marvel IV#33) - After Pryo showed Genis Reva's corpse and a picture of her from when she was still living, Genis commented that if he had not told him that the corpse of Reva's he would have not had any idea that that was her.

After Pryo instructed Pro to open her containment chamber, Genis laid his hands on her head, using his cosmic awareness and telling her, "There's a much finer line between the living and dead than you'd think. And, in either stated, you're still part of the cosmos. Nothing ends. Nothing remains unused or recycled. And anything that is part of the cosmos, no matter what condition it's in...I still have access to it."

He continued, "Reva...Hear me, Reva. Wherever you are within the cosmos...I am aware of you. You can't hide from me."

"I want to talk to you, Reva. Reva...Reva...

.

centrella-reva-calc-corpse-situpcentrella-reva-calc-corpse-link    As Pryo began to object and order Genis to desist, suddenly Reva's corpse sat up, startling everyone in the room. Genis asked, "Reva?", and both he and her corpse suddenly let out a scream, after which Genis observed/experienced her flight from and the last seconds before her death at the hands of the Magus.

(Captain Marvel IV#33 - BTS) - Genis received the Magus' message and challenge to meet him and to come alone.

(Captain Marvel IV#34) - Reva's corpse then dropped back into he chamber, and Captain Marvel departed and met with the Magus.

(Captain Marvel IV#33 - BTS) - Ultimately, having taken the Magus' measure, Genis allowed him to try to consume his soul, knowing that his connection to the cosmos would prove to be too much for him, and the Magus fled, arriving in apparently solid form on some other world.

Comments: Created by Peter David and ChrisCross.

As far as I know, we don't know anything about Reva beyond what is listed above.

I'd like to know more about her...maybe some flashback story to the past pf Calculex/Halvacenter, Steck'ee, Zoog and/or Glib Arkanium to flesh her out more.
Sadly, I post this profile upon learning of the passing of Peter David, one of my all-time favorite writers.
Thanks for all of the great stories and characters you brought to us (for a sampling, see the link to Peter David characters above), and I hope the afterlife is as great as you could possibly imagine.
