axecutioner-93151-disc-thrownHistory:

(Sachs & Violens#1 (fb) - BTS) - As the Axecutioner, Wendell was employed by the director Maurice in "snuff films," pornographic movies of an actual murder, which were produced under the Big O.

The Axecutioner may or may not have been involved with the mysterious disappearances of four models.

(Sachs & Violens#1) - In one such film, the Axecutioner decapitated Wendy Ashe as she was in cowgirl position with an actor named Hart. Afterward, Maurice expressed his dissatisfaction, and Wendell told him that he thought he was giving him what he wanted, "I thought we agreed I should not be too over the top. That quiet menace for the Axecutioner was..."

Maurice interrupted, assuring Wendell that he was locked in, but that the problem was with Hart, who had been unenthusiastic and had notably appeared to be bored as he looked directly into the camera as the Axecutioner was making his swing.

When the crew had trouble finding Wendy's head, Wendell felt bad for having inconvenienced them, and he helped them look; one of them subsequently found the head wedged under the ottoman.

(Sachs & Violens#1 - BTS) - Showing up late for a photo shoot after beating up a would-be mugger, JJ Sachs offered multiple excuses, but Ernie was worried about her, especially as four models had recently mysteriously disappeared.

(Sachs & Violens#1 - BTS) - Lane stole prints of the footage of the movie with Wendy. Woody and Lane were in a traffic collision driving Wendy's body to dispose of it, and her corpse was dumped on the ground right by a police officer.

(Sachs & Violens#1 (fb) - BTS) - As the van Woody and Lane had been driving was stolen, the police could not use it to investigate the murder further.

(Sachs & Violens#1 - BTS) - JJ saw a newspaper report on Wendy's death.axecutioner-93151-maskaxecutioner-93151-catchjj

(Sachs & Violens#1 (fb) - BTS) - The Big O was upset by the discovery of Wendy's corpse and the police possession of the un-retouched pictures, which clearly identified Hart's face. In response, the Axecutioner decapitated Hart and brought his head with him.

(Sachs & Violens#1) - As Maurice chastised Lane and Woody for their actions, Wendell arrived, and he showed them Hart's head as Maurice advised them that "Heads are gonna roll for this one..." Maurice took pictures of the horrified Lane and Woody, telling them to keep the panic up and work with him. As they fled, Maurice enjoyed the action shot, after which he gave Wendell the cue, and Wendell hurled a razor-sharp metal decapitated both of them in one shot.

After Maurice congratulated him, Wendell told him that he wanted a raise. Maurice expressed that he had enough problems already, but when Wendell told him to think of it as a token of respect, Maurice presumably appreciated the gravity of the situation and apparently agreed.

(Sachs & Violens#1 - BTS) - JJ confronted Lt. Eliot Kelso, who was investigating the models' cases. He showed her the pictures from the snuff film, but she was frustrated by his lack of any active lead. Returning to her apartment, JJ heard a message Wendy had left her, asking her to bring the outfit she had borrowed to "Single Pictures."

(Sachs & Violens#1 (fb) - BTS) - Learning of the death of JJ's friend Wendy Ashe, apparently in a snuff film, Ernie called JJ and left her a message, telling her to call him.

(Sachs & Violens#1) - After JJ told Ernie she was going to confront and punish Wendy's killers, Ernie, a Vietnam veteran, resolved to protect her.

(Sachs & Violens#2 - BTS) - Seeking to track down JJ, Ernie visited his mother at Harmony Love Toys, and she let him know both that JJ had stopped there, and she gave him the name of George Comitz, as someone who was a top dealer for snuff films. Ernie next contacted JJ's nun sister, MacArthur, who told him that JJ had called and noted that the people who had killed her friend Wendy had not deserved to live. axecutioner-93151-post

Traveling to the Comitz Castle, Ernie coerced George to give him everything he knew about Wendy Ashe.

(Sachs & Violens#2 - BTS) - JJ forced her way into Sin Gal Magazine, where photographer Maurice recognized her from a picture with her friend, Wendy.

(Sachs & Violens#1) - She fought her way past several attackers, but as she held Maurice, the Axecutioner pulled a cord from underneath her foot, causing her to fall to the ground and stunning her. As she awakened, Maurice introduced her to the Axecutioner and told her that he had killed Wendy. JJ tried a flying drop kick, but the Axecutioner caught her and threw her against a wall and then picked her up and threw her across the room again.

Noting that they were running way over budget, Maurice tried to hand Wendell his axe and tell him to finish things, but Wendell considered that to do so would be out of character for the Axecutioner and that JJ deserved better. Grabbing JJ's hair, he told her, "If you wouldn't mind some constructive criticism...you should try to control your temper. Maurice is just trying to goad you. It's making you sloppy. Your performance should be more controlled--" axecutioner-93151-death

JJ interrupted him with chain-wrapped fist to the nuts and then kicked him in the face. He either dove over top of her and pulled her with him, or she somehow flipped his bulk, but either way he kept hold of her hair. Cursing and threatening to kill him, JJ punched him again, after which he punched her across the room again, commenting, "Today's young people. No sense of poetry."

Noting that her crude attacks were starting to hurt a bit and that he felt he had given her her due, he stated, "caddy...my nine iron," and he was handed his axe. The Axecutioner slowly approached her and then raised his axe, at which point the arriving Ernie fired a bullet that shattered his axe. After Ernie took out the rest of Maurice's employees, the Axecutioner threw his razor-disc at Ernie unseen by him, but JJ swung down on a cable and knocked Ernie out of the way.

Carrying a wooden post, Wendell charged at them, telling them, "You're going to have a death worthy of our art...a sonata of savagery, fit for warriors such as ourselves! A true, poetic climax!"

Instead, Ernie fired his automatic weapon into his chest +/- head, apparently killing him while noting, "Jesus, what an asshole."

Maurice repeatedly called Wendell/Axecutioner "babe," which may have just been a term he used, or it may have meant that they were lovers.
