SPORR

Real Name: Sporr

Identity/Class: Extra-terrestrial (Fomalhauti)

Occupation: Would-be saviour

Affiliations: Sif

Enemies: Levians, Thor, Warriors Three

Known Relatives: None

Aliases: None

Base of Operations: the Levianon, adrift in space

First Appearance: (tentacles) Thor I#256 (February, 1977); (full body) Thor I#257 (March, 1977)

Powers/Abilities: Sporr was a mutant member of the Fomalhauti race. Like all Fomalhauti, he resembled a large amoeba, with several tentacles extending from his body. His tentacles were so immense that he could reach throughout the Levianon without even moving. Like all Fomalhauti, he used telepathy to communicate with others.

History: (Thor I#257 (fb))- Sporr, a benevolent member of the Fomalhauti race, came to reside aboard the crippled starship Levianon (home of the remaining members of the Levian race) when a meteor he was upon struck their vessel. Seeing how the Levians were unable to care for themselves properly, Sporr began to kidnap those who were in the most need of aid and nursed them back to health. However, the Levians believed Sporr to be their enemy, and plotted his downfall.

(Thor I#256)- When the Asgardian Thor led his allies Sif and the Warriors Three to the Levianon, they learnt of Sporr from the Levians, and agreed to help them. Having sensed that Sif was wounded, Sporr stole her away, despite the best efforts of Thor and the Warriors Three to stop him.

(Thor I#257)- Thor led the Warriors Three and Levians through the Levianon to Sporr's home, and made a savage attack upon Sporr. Thor managed to incapacitate Sporr by blasting him with lightning, but the Levians leader Relstor had Sporr killed. It was only after Sporr's death that Thor and the Levians learnt from Sif that Sporr was truly a benevolent being.

Comments: Created by Len Wein, John Buscema and Tony DeZuniga.

Sif claimed that Sporr was the last of his race when he died. Possibly she meant that he was the last mutant Fomalhauti.
