History: Mutaurus' origins are unknown.

(Thor I#143/2 (fb) - BTS) - At some point he was placed in a chamber underneath Mogul's throne room in the Mystic Mountain. He slew all those who entered the chamber.

(Thor I#143/2) - Shezada opened a trap door beneath Volstagg into Mutaurus chamber, but Volstagg grabbed her, pulling her down with him. Volstagg sidestepped Mutaurus' first charge, and Shezada, fearing for her own life, led Volstagg to the Enchanted Rod of Wondrous Wizard Power. Using the Enchanted Rod, Volstagg easily felled Mutaurus.

(Thor I#474 (fb)) - After Shezada freed Mogul, he unleashed Mutaurus against Alibar, capturing and imprisoning him.

(Thor I#474 (fb)) - Mutaurus was part of Mogul's assault force against Asgard. He pursued Volstagg, who goaded him into charging and then fled between a pair of rocks, wide enough for Volstagg's bulk, but too narrow for Mutaurus horned head to pass.

(Avengers III#1) - Mutaurus was one of many magical beings summoned from Asgard to Earth as part of a plot by Morgan le Fey. He fought Hawkeye alongside the Manhattan's East River for a short struggle before vanishing along with the others summoned.

Comments: Created by Stan "The Man" Lee, Jack "King" Kirby, and Vince Colletta.

Obvious parallels to the Minotaur of the Labyrinth (see clarifications).

He did not speak in his Thor appearances, seeming to be more of a raging monster, but he spoke quite eloquently in Avengers III#1.

Mutarus supposedly died during the Ragnarok in Thor II#85.
