Powers/Abilities: Lore had great magical powers. She could travel between dimensions, ensnare the minds and manipulate the physical forms of others, raise and control the dead, fire mystic bolts and project shields. She could drain other sources of energy, including whole planets, to replenish her stores. Her full power was only glimpsed at.

History:
(Scarlet Witch I#4 (fb)) - Lore is the nexus being--the one who personifies the realm's character and serves as the focal point or anchor of that reality--of her dimension, a realm where necromancy if the common order. Eons ago, she exhausted her own world, after which she began to travel from dimension to dimension, devouring each realm. Her powers would bind the dimension into helpless stasis while her agents would drive that dimension's resident nexus being insane. With the nexus guardian helpless and vulnerable, Lore would take over its body and become physically manifest, gaining a solid form through which to feed.

(Century: Distant Sons#1 (fb) - BTS) - The alien race known as the Scatter discovered that worlds injured by Lore made easy pickings, and so they took to following her and finishing off her leftovers.

(Century: Distant Sons#1 (fb) - BTS) - Lore laid waste to the homeworld of the Homodur, which was then further scavenged by the Scatter.

(Century: Distant Sons#1 (fb) - BTS) - The Homodur created Century to track down and destroy Lore.

(Scarlet Witch I#3 (fb) - BTS) - Lore targeted the Earth-616 dimension's nexus being, Wanda Maximoff, the Scarlet Witch. She recruited Master Pandemonium as her agent, freeing him from Mephisto's realm of Hell.

(Scarlet Witch I#1) - Lore's agent, Gargan, assaulted the world of Amazar, claiming its leader and nexus being, Eleyn, for Lore.

(Scarlet Witch I#2) - As Master Pandemonium began his attacks against the Scarlet Witch, Lore traveled to Avengers Compound, ensorcelling each the Avengers West Coast in succession: Living Lightning, Spider-Woman (Carpenter), USAgent, War Machine, and transforming them into her Iron Golems. The Golems joined Master Pandemonium in tormenting the Scarlet Witch.

(Scarlet Witch I#3) - The Scarlet Witch fled the Iron Golems, while Agatha Harkness tracked down Wanda. Agatha and Wanda defeated and trapped Pandemonium, at which point Lore revealed her presence.

(Scarlet Witch I#4) - Lore overpowered Wanda and Agatha and explained her goals, after which Wanda managed to cast a hex which brought Lore into physical form. Lore rose an army of the dead to attack Wanda, but the Witch managed to grant them eternal peace. Agatha recovered to join the fight, but a stray blast freed Pandemonium, who grabbed and pinned Wanda. Lore, caring little for her ally, blasted both of them, and then seemingly destroyed Pandemonium when he complained about the treatment. The Avengers were released from Lore's control as she gathered her energies into herself, and Lore then attempted to summon forth the spirits of all of the Nexi she had ever slain, so she could drain their powers to rejuvenate herself so she could destroy Earth-616. However, the spirits of the Nexi turned on Lore, tearing her apart. The Scarlet Witch them hurled Pandemonium's sword into Lore, who apparently exploded.

SECRET WARS III HAPPENED

(Avengers Unlimited Infinity Comic#36 (fb) - BTS) - Lore murdered Lisa Cacace to get the mystical mirror artifact el Espejo.

(Avengers Unlimited Infinity Comic#33-34 - BTS) - The people of Barringtonville, Pennsylvania fell under the control of Lore and Master Pandemonium, which caught the attention of Shroud, who was caught by them. Moon Knight, thinking Shroud was responsible for the death of a member of his Midnight Mission, went after Shroud. Captain America and Spider-Woman then went after Moon Knight and found the mind-controlled citizens of the town and with the help of Moon Knight eventually Shroud, who warned them of the real threat.

(Avengers Unlimited Infinity Comic#36 (fb) - BTS) - Lore used el Espejo to free Master Pandemonium from his imprisonment by using Shroud's connection to the Dark Dimension to power it.

(Avengers Unlimited Infinity Comic#35) - Lore used her control over the people of Barringtonville to use them as her army in an assault on the four heroes. She revealed that she was serving someone else and that the people were primed by her for an awakening. The heroes were ready to attack, but Master Pandemonium suddenly appeared and caught Captain America's shield and interrupted them. The heroes were overrun by the town's citizens as Lore and Master Pandemonium watched. The citizens soon lost consciousness because their souls were drained by Master Pandemonium.

(Avengers Unlimited Infinity Comic#36) - Captain America knocked out Lore with his shield while Master Pandemonium kept growing. Shroud eventually sent the energies used to bring Pandemonium back to Earth back through the mirror to rob Lore and Master Pandemonium off their powers and send them through the mirror to another dimension.

Comments: Created by Andy Lanning, Dan Abnett, John Higgins, and Mark McKenna.

They name the location of Avengers Compound as Boca Caliente in Scarlet Witch I#2. That's the island location of AIM HQ. Avengers Compound was in Palos Verde, IIRC.

Presumably, Lore visited each of the worlds that the Scatter visited, but that is unconfirmed, and so only confirmed worlds will be mentioned.

Who the H!@# cares about Lore. I want more Gargan!!!

Amazar

An alien dimension, it was a world of swords and sorcery, ruled by the witch-queen Eleyn. It was assaulted by Gargan and his Iron Golems, after which it was presumably fed on by Lore, and whatever was left when she was done was likely scavenged by the Scatter. It appeared as a lone island floating in the void of space.

Amazites

A group of warrior women and sorceress, they fought savagely against Gargan and his Iron Golems, but were no match for the powerful wizard, who captured their witch-queen Eleyn and turned her over to Lore. It is not known if any of them survived Lore's draining their world's energy, or the likely follow-up attack by the Scatter.

--Scarlet Witch I#1

The Iron Golems

Their origins unknown, they were the  powerful warriors of Gargan. They slaughtered the Aamzites and assisted in the capture of Eleyn. They were apparently made of iron, and their fingertips were sharp enough to cut through solid rock.

Eleyn

Witch-queen of the Amazites, she was the nexus being of Amazar, and was driven to madness by nightmares caused by Gargan and Lore, after which her physical form was possessed by Lore, until she used up its energy and moved on to her next conquest. Her spirit was among those that took their vengeance on Lore, and she thanked the Scarlet Witch for her help in attaining final peace.

Gargan

A wizard conqueror of unknown origins, he was an agent of Lore and led the assault on Amazar, assisted by his Iron Golems. He rode atop a winged dragon, could fire powerful energy blasts, and perform the ritual to summon Lore.
