History:

(New Mutants I#91 - BTS) - Shunned by society, the man known only as Brute and his brother Hump joined the underground misfits known as the Morlocks at some unrevealed point in the past. Meeting several other brutish mutants, Brute and Hump became affiliated with Masque.

(New Mutants I#91) - Brute and his brother Hump accompanied Masque in confronting Sabretooth, one of the Marauders from the notorious "Morlock Massacre." They attempted to claim Sabretooth's life, but Caliban seemingly slew Sabretooth before they could do so.

(New Mutants I#99) - Hump and Brute tried to help Masque capture Feral, but they failed-- she escaped into the sewers.

(New Mutants I#100) - Brute, Hump, and Masque followed Feral and found her in the X-Mansion. After the New Mutants defeated members of the Protectorate, Masque told them to give Feral back to them but Cable refused. Brute threatened Cable and Cable shot him in the head. Masque and Brute then decided to leave.

(Marauders I#19 - BTS) - Brute came to live in Masque's new home in Rio Verde, Arizona.

(Marauders I#19) - Madripoor's Lowtown came under attack by Homines Verendi's Reavers, in an effort to clean the streets of Lowtown as billionaire Chen Zhao had been buying up the streets. Explicitly instructed not to engage, the heroic Marauders searched for ways to stop the Reavers nonetheless, as such Callisto reached out to Brute, Bliss, Hump, Marrow and Masque for help. Believing the Reavers would destroy the new hospital Masque now worked, he and the Marauders agreed to help. Brute and the Morlocks joined Callisto to Madripoor, traveling by Krakoan-gate after which they immediately opposed the cyborg warriors, Brute used his enhanced strength to cut one of the Reavers in half with a manhole-cover. The Morlocks quickly gained the upper hand, causing the Reavers to escape Lowtown after which the mutants celebrated their victory in a local hotel and bar. Brute and the others were surprised to learn the locals now called the place Mutietown instead of Lowtown.

(X-Men Unlimited III#79) - Brute was seen playing pool in the Princess Bar when Marrow and Feral had just rescued Leech from Homines Verendi. Later that day Brute was seen sitting at the bar enjoying a beer when Marrow, Feral and Chamber returned to the Princess Bar after successfully dealing with Maximilian Frankenstein.

(Dark X-Men II#2 (fb) - BTS) - On the night of the third annual Hellfire Gala on Mykines Island, Callisto established the Morlocks' own tradition, a raucous celebration. Brute and Hump joined Beautiful Dreamer, Shatter and Sunder on a yacht on the South Asian Sea. That night when Orchis attacked the Hellfire Gala and pressured Xavier into telepathically commanding mutants from around the world to step through the nearest Krakoan gate, the Morlocks were simply too far out to sea to reach a portal in time.

(Dark X-Men II#2) - Brute and Hump were checking a map on Callisto's yacht when they and the other Morlocks came under attack by Archangel who was under the influence of the Goblin Queen of Earth-91240. With just one swoop, Archangel killed Brute, Hump and Sunder. While at the same time a squad of the newly formed Dark X-Men arrived to save the Morlocks.
