History:
(
Rom#19/2 (fb) - BTS) <Approximately 200 years ago> - Presumably following the Wraith's flight from Wraithworld to escape the Galadorians, a Dire Wraith arrived on Thuvria.

Believed to be a Thuvrian (presumably due to his shape-shifting powers), he convinced Archon and his people that he was a prophet, and he became known as the Wise One.

(Rom#19/2 (fb) - BTS) - The Wise One told the Thruvians that Galador had been overrun by Wraithkind.

(Rom#19/2 (fb) - BTS) - The Wise One warned Archon and his people of the coming of "armor-encased demons." The Wise One further noted that these demons would descend from the sky, professing friendship and claiming to be from Galador, but they would in actuality be Galadorian-disguised Dire Wraiths.

The Wise One delivered weaponry to the  that would allow them to combat these "demons," including a shield, a sonic lance, and electro-shackles to restrain them.

(Rom#19/2 (fb) - BTS) - Rom detected a faint energy trail from a Galadorian hospital ship, which had been attacked by Dire Wraiths, to the planet Thuvria. He led his fellow spaceknights Starshine and Terminator there to investigate.

(Rom#19/2 (fb)) - After Rom, Starsine, and Terminator arrived, Archon subdued them with the sonic lance.wise_one-direwraith-slain

(Rom#19/2 (fb) - BTS) - The Spaceknights were brought into the castle, bound in the electro-shackles, and stood before the Court of Archon.

(Rom#19/2 (fb)) - Starshine introduced herself as being from Galador and asked why they were treated as enemies when they had come there to save their world from evil. Archon then revealed the information foretold to him by the Wise One, and the Wise One asked, "And has not all come to pass even as I foretold, o king?"

Archon confirmed that it had, noting that the deceivers were here and that his weapons had made them ready for them.

Starshine then told Archon, "There is indeed foul deception at work," and Rom instructed her to use her lighteyes to reveal the truth to the assembled Thuvrians.

Rom continued, "The truth that it is not the Spaceknights who are disguised, but the king's counsel," as Starshine's lighteyes' glow bathed the Wise One. As he screamed, "Arrgh! The light! It sears! It reveals!" his true form as a Dire Wraith was exposed. The others present were shocked that the king's advisor was not Thuvrian, and one of them asked, "But what is he, then?

Terminator replied, "One of the lowest orders of life there be! A scheming destroyer from out of the dreaded Dark Nebula! Wielding science and sorcery, his kind have enslaved worlds..." Using his blacklight eyebeams to disrupt the shackles restraining himself and his allies, Terminator continued, "He is a foul and fiendish murderer  -- a pillager of planets -- an emissary of evil!" Although Rom told Terminator to hold back and allow him to summon his neutralizer to banish the Dire Wraiths to limbo, Terminator refused, noting, "Banishment is too good for such as he!" Destruction is all a Dire Wraith deserves!" With that, Terminator unleashed his blacklight beams and slew the "Wise One," who perished, screaming "Yieeee..."

Comments: Created by Bill Mantlo and Sal Buscema.

Rom#19/2 was a five page story, so there's not much too it, but it served, at least, as a plot device for Terminator -- whose own humanity had perished due to a Wraith plague -- to lose control and murder an innocent (Archon). Terminator will get his own profile in the coming months (or millennia), and it will all be covered there.
