PSYCHO-PROBE

ClassificationExtraterrestrial (Skrull) technology

Creator: Unidentified Skrull scientists

User/Possessors: Super-Skrull (Kl'rt)

First Appearance: Captain Marvel I#3 (July, 1968)

Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Psycho-Probe has the ability to read the mind of any person confined within its receptors and create a recording of their recent memories, which can then be viewed through a viewing device. Such devices have been seen aboard Skrull starships.

History:
(Captain Marvel I#3) - Having defeated his Kree foe Captain Mar-Vell, the Super-Skrull placed him into the Psycho-Probe and took a scan of his recent memories, obtaining from the device a recording which started during Mar-Vell's battle against Sentry #459. The Super-Skrull watched the recording of the battle but before he could view further, Captain Mar-Vell escaped his bonds and escaped the Super-Skrull's ship.

Comments: Created by Roy Thomas, Gene Colan and Vince Colletta.

Apparently, the Super-Skrull didn't continue watching the recording because he subsequently assumed the form of Walter Lawson - whom Mar-Vell was then impersonating.
