Powers/Abilities: Neooqtoq appeared to be gigantic mass of tentacles covered with innumerable biting, gibbering mouths, an eldritch horror of a creature.

History:
(Incredible Hercules#119 (fb) - BTS) - Neooqtoq was one of the Great Beasts that originally hailed from the corrupted dimension known as the Shattered Lands, but who had subsequently tried to invade North America over a thousand years ago. The Inua who opposed this incursion considered Neooqtoq the deadliest of the Great Beasts. Around a thousand years ago the Great Beasts had all been either slain or banished, most back to the Shattered Lands, and sealed from returning to Earth via mystic barriers.

(Incredible Hercules#119) - During the alien Skrulls' Secret Invasion of Earth the shapeshifting Inua demigod Snowbird adopted Neooqtoq's form while battling extraterrestrial gods co-opted into the Skrull pantheon. 

(Alpha Flight IV#2 - BTS) - Ranark the Ravager provided Department H with a bone fragment from Neooqtoq and it was used to enhance a Box unit to capture Snowbird.

   Neooqtoq's absence from other appearances of the gathered Great Beasts suggests it is either dead or imprisoned away from the others.

   We've never actually seen Neooqtoq, just Snowbird wearing its form, and we never see it entirely clearly as it is always surrounded by attacking alien gods. It should be noted that the image many sites are using for Neooqtoq (see below) are not actually that form, but Snowbird in that form bursting out of an alien god (also see below) that had swallowed her. 



Left you can see the image most sites identify as Neooqtoq. Directly above is the creature that swallowed Snowbird.
A momentary comparison of the faces shows that the image on the left is of something with tentacles erupting out of
the above god, smashing holes in its skull as they exit the body. What the image on the left is NOT, is just Neooqtoq itself.


   This profile was completed 09/15/2021, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 20th anniversary's celebratory event.
