Powers/Abilities: Alice's most recent form is
green and tentacled, perhaps more piscene or at least aquatic. This
form did not spread contagiously to others and allowed her to turn
invisible
Alice Michaels initially
transformed into a giant green insect with sharp incisors and
sharp-footed legs, and she spread her contagion accidentally to those
around her, mutating them into similar creatures who could also mutate
others.
As the queen insect in this hive
mind, Alice realized that she had to "die" in order to free the others
from her unwilling control.

History:
(A-Force II#9 (fb) - BTS) - Alice
Michaels grew up in Ouray, Colorado, with her parents Janine and
Albert. She worked as a tour guide in the mountains of Ouray in the
summers. Under unrevealed circumstances, Alice woke up one day in the
form of a monstrous bug. Panicking, she fled into the hills, only later
realizing that she had accidentally spread her contagion to civilians
who then spread it to others. Feeling helpless, she stayed in hiding,
and realized she could only communicate telepathically with others. She
tried asserting control over the other civilians, but this proved
ineffective.
(A-Force II#8 (fb) - BTS) - As the contagion spread through the civilians of Ouray, Janine and Albert hid out in a safe house with many other civilians, including Anna. The Michaels hired Elsa Bloodstone to investigate.
(A-Force II#8 - BTS) - Elsa Bloodstone and Nico Minoru, who had a home in the area, battled their way through the mutated civilians. A-Force soon arrived to aid them.
(A-Force II#9) - Elsa, Captain Marvel, and Nico found Anna in a mine shaft above Ouray, and found Alice, who communicated with them telepathically about how she had been in hiding up there for weeks. Alice hinted that she wanted to be killed so the others could be freed, after which the others realized that Elsa had been mutated.
(A-Force II#10) - When the civilians at the safe
house were mutated, Medusa, Dazzler, and Singularity joined their
allies at the mine, only for all of the heroes except Nico to be
transformed. Alice again said Nico would have to kill her, but Nico
instead cast a spell to return Alice to her human form, thinking it
would end the threat, but the others remained in bug forms. Given no
choice, Nico cast a spell to kill Alice, who fell dead, and all of the
transformed heroes and civilians shifted back into human form.
Alice ended up hatching from a new cocoon as the others watched as a new insectoid woman. The heroes tried to detain Alice, but she simply walked away, turning herself invisible to avoid detection.

Nico's "killing" of Alice was one of the many futures predicted by Ulysses Cain as part of the Civil War II event. It was never made clear what the source of Alice's powers were.

Janine and Albert Michaels (A-Force II#8 (fb) - BTS) - Janine Michaels hired Elsa Bloodstone to save Alice. (A-Force II#8) - Elsa Bloodstone and Nico Minoru battled the mutated civilians, with Nico trapping many of them in honey with a spell, before returning to the safe house with saved civilians, where Albert and Janine checked their eyes before they entered, and Anna got a few more civilians to safety. Janine and Albert were frusrated that Elsa wasn't making more progress and that Alice hadn't been found yet. Then Captain Marvel and Medusa arrived to aid the others. (A-Force II#9) - Dazzler and Singularity arrived, completing the roster of A-Force, and the women nearly got into a fight over tactics before Singularity calmed them all down. (A-Force II#10 (fb) - BTS) - The members of the safe house mutated as well, spreading the contagion further.
