History:
(Rocket I#2 (fb) - BTS) - Echomelians from Everett-5 were a reptilian species with no eye sockets. Lacking sight, they possessed intrinsic echolocation abilities to navigate their surroundings. The same abilities also allowed them to read heartbeats of others to determine their emotions and motives, making Echomelians perfectly suited for legal work. Two Echomelian lawyers operating in the galaxy were Frogurt "Froggy" Frelson and his partner Murd Blurdock. Blurdock was also secretly operating as a vigilante Seeing Being, having, unusual for his people, functional eyes due to a childhood trauma.

(Rocket I#2) - Echomelian lawyers Frelson and Blurdock represented Rocket Raccoon, who was on trial for numerous crimes on Tarka's World. Moments before the trial, Murd noticed a female Echomelian acquaintance of his in the courtroom, holding a sign that urged him to come and fight ninjas with her. Murd ran towards the woman and out of the courtroom, much to "Froggy"'s chagrin. After that, Rocket relieved "Froggy" from his services and decided to represent himself.

(New Mutants IV#1 - BTS) - Echomelian lawyer Murd Blurdock advertised his services as a lawyer in Shi'ar space.

(New Mutants IV#2 (fb)) - Echomelian lawyer Murd Blurdock represented Sunspot (Roberto da Costa) and his New Mutants teammates after were arrested by the Shi'ar. Murd contacted Sunspot to inform that he managed to expedite their court date to a week away. After Sunspot's protests Murd managed to get it down to three days.

(New Mutants IV#2) - During the trial of the New Mutants, the Echomelian Murd tried to appeal to the defendants' alien nature and cultural background. The Shi'ar judge refused to consider this plea and Blurdock lost the case.

(New Mutants IV#5 (fb)) - Sunspot fired the Echomelian Blurdock for his inadequate performance as lawyer.

(X-Men VI#1 - BTS) - Following the transformation of Sol's Mars into the Planet Arakko, Echomelian lawyer Murd Blurdock advertised his services to any previous inhabitants of the planet who could be entitled to compensation.

(X-Men VI#6 - BTS) - Echomelian lawyer Murd Blurdock advertised his experience in successfully litigating ownership of both natural and artificial satellites.

Comments: Created by Al Ewing, Adam Gorham and Michael Garland.

The Echomelian species' height is approximated from Murd Blurdock being slightly taller than all members of the New Mutants present in New Mutants IV#2.

It was impossible to determine the number of toes Echomelians typically have, as none of their feet were ever shown.

CLARIFICATIONS:
The Echomelians have no known connections to:

"Froggy" Frelson

Frogurt "Froggy" Frelson was an Echomelian lawyer practicing alongside his friend Murd Blurdock. They represented Rocket Raccoon, who was on trial on Tarka's World. Frelson convinced Rocket that his case was in good hands, praising Murd's legal skills and explaining his friend's unusual appearance. Right before the trial started, Murd ran out of the courtroom, seemingly at random. Froggy was deeply upset by this and Rocket relieved him from his services. Rocket decided to represent himself instead, which led to him losing the case.
