History:
(Darkhold: Pages from the Book of Sins#1) - When Lilith offered an alliance to DeGuzman's group of Darkholders, DeGuzman gave her full control over his ninjas, who had just failed on their mission to assassinate Victoria Montesi. In return Lilith had Doc brutally cut their bodies apart and reshape the ninjas, turning them into enhanced, but monstrous looking beings. Doc was standing next to Lilin when she learned about the existence of the Chameleon Worms, which she was sure would keep their enemies busy.

Pilgrim teleported Lilith, Doc and Nakota to Central Park where they cut off Victoria Montesi's escape route while the Darholders' ninjas attacked her. Lilith and her children merely watched Ghost Rider, Johnny Blaze, Louise Hastings and Sam Buchanan protect Montesi from the ninjas and the mutated Darkhold-mutated Donald Walsh. Pilgrim teleported Lilith and Doc to safety after Lilith was hit by Blaze's shotgun.

(Ghost Rider III#31) - Doc was present with Blackout, Fang, Nakota and Pilgrim when Lilith tended to her mutilated child Meatmarket, who had fallen in battle with the Nightstalkers, Ghost Rider and Johnny Blaze.

After teleporting to Greenland with Lilith, Doc created a new body for Meatmarket from the corpses of the men that first discovered Lilith. In addition he created two additional beings to serve as Lilith's bodyguards from the leftover parts. Lilith complimented Doc for his work and then asked him to join his life force with his brethren to open a vortex to bring forth more of the Lilin to Earth. The Midnight Sons arrived to stop Lilith. Drake nearly hit Doc with the Exorcist gun during the battle. Doc, Fang and Blackout then worked together to overpower Ghost Rider. Doc held Blaze in check by holding one of his knives to his neck, but Morbius tackled Doc to save Blaze. In the end Lilith was forced through the vortex opening in her belly by Ghost Rider to end the looming threat of her children invading Earth for the moment.

(Ghost Rider III#31 - BTS) - In the aftermath of the battle he was presumably devoured by Lilith like his brethren.

(Darkhold: Pages from the Book of Sins#15) - Doc watched from behind a pillar after the battle at Brooklyn Bridge between a large number of Lilin and the Midnight Sons (Blade, Frank Drake, Louise Hastings, Morbius) and their allies Modred and Jinx. He followed them and ultimately led his mother Lilith, his brethren Meatmarket, Nakota and another Lilin, and their new ally Zarathos to the abandoned laboratory used as a temporary hideout by their enemies. Teleported down to the cellar by Pilgrim, Doc and his brethren attacked Blade, Modred and Jinx before Drake stopped them, but he was knocked out by the traitorous Morbius.

Comments: Created by Chris Cooper, Richard Case & Mark McKenna.

He was a happy little fella. I have no clue why he turned black in a cold climate and was chalk-white in the moderate climate of the United States. In Greenland he looked a bit like a happier, smaller version of Blade.

Doc was there and then he was not. He presumably was eaten by Lilith and later reborn in Ghost Rider III#41 (September, 1993) or later. He also presumably was sucked back to the Shadowside when the rift to Earth was closed by Johnny Blaze, Ghost Rider and Vengeance in Ghost Rider/Blaze: Spirits of Vengeance#17 (December, 1993). But this is all just assumption. Maybe he escaped in Greenland and was never eaten by Lilith and maybe he somehow remained on Earth even after the rift to the Shadowside was closed.
