Almost immediately upon setting foot on the island, however, a group of giant Cyclopses attacked the men, killing several as they scrambled back to their lifeboats. The Cyclopses soon destroyed Sinbad's ship with their optic energy beams, leaving only the few lifeboats, one of which housed King and Wolvie, intact.

These giant Cyclopses were obviously counterparts to the Earth-616 mutant hero Cyclops.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Earth-38191's Cyclopses has no known connections to:

Sinbad the Sailor

Sinbad the Sailor was a famous adventurer who lived in the city of Basra and was the captain of a large ship filled with spices and gold. When the reality-hopping Exiles King of Earth-18136 and Wolvie arrived on Earth-38191, they were forced into the roles of Sinbad and his barber. Waking up aboard Sinbad's ship, King quickly realized they were at sea and one of Sinbad's crewmen soon came to the door to wake Sinbad. Unable to tell that King was not Sinbad, the crewman led King and Wolvie above deck, where the ship soon hit land. Sinbad's crew then followed King onto the island, still thinking him to be the real Sinbad, only to be ambushed by a race of giant Cyclopses and forced to flee. Later, when the regrouped Exiles faced the mad Caliph Doom, the Exile Iron Lad of Earth-18651 deduced that, if the Exiles had been forced into roles that were stories in their home realities such as Sinbad the Sailor, then his teammate Nocturne had been forced into the role of the storyteller Shahrazad.
