Powers/Abilities: Weapon II is a squirrel with typical squirrel abilities including clawed paws and teeth capable of rending wood and nuts as well as senses exceeding those of humans.

In addition to his inherent squirrel skills, Weapon II possesses an Adamantium-laced skeleton and retractable Adamantium claws that he can extend from his forepaws at will. He also has a regenerative healing factor that allows him to heal from most physical injuries and slows his aging. Following his transformation, Weapon II's intelligence was increased to equal to that of humans, allowing him to fluently speak English as well as squirrel. Weapon II can also activate and disable his "berserker mode" programming at will, temporarily placing him in savage, feral state in which he is only able to speak in squirrel and will savagely attack any opponent while the programming is active.

History: (New X-Men I#130 (fb) - BTS) - The Weapon Plus program, in their attempts to create super-soldiers, first created Weapon 0, but after 0 was classified, the Weapon Plus program moved on to testing on animals including the squirrel who would later be codenamed Weapon II and another animal that was codenamed Weapon III.

(Unbeatable Squirrel Girl II#6 (fb) - BTS) - Weapon II was given a regenerative healing factor, helping him survive the Weapon Plus program's subsequent bonding of the indestructible Adamantium metal to his skeleton. The result of the bonding process also granted the squirrel retractable Adamantium claws and vastly increased the squirrel's intelligence.

(Wolverine & Captain America: Weapon Plus#1 (fb) - BTS) - In 1953, the Weapon Plus decided to stop testing on animals like Weapon II and III.

(Unbeatable Squirrel Girl II#6 (fb) - BTS) - Decades later, Weapon II was captured by Shannon Sugarbaker as she gathered animal-human hybrids to hunt for sport

(Unbeatable Squirrel Girl II#6 (fb)) - After Howard the Duck was also captured by Shannon Sugarbaker, Shannon introduced Howard to his fellow captives including Rocket Raccoon, Beast, cybernetic cat Biggs and Weapon II. Briefly explaining Weapon II's origins to Howard, prompting Weapon II to claim he was the best there was at what he did and what he did was gather nuts for the winter, Shannon Sugarbaker ordered Weapon II to pop his claws. Sighing, Weapon II did as commanded and Sugarbaker proclaimed that Weapon II was too cute as well as insanely dangerous. Later, after Squirrel Girl crashed Shannon Sugarbaker's home and was captured as well, Weapon II watched over Squirrel Girl until she regained consciousness. When she did and questioned if she was seeing a Wolverine squirrel, Weapon II smiled and asked Squirrel Girl what was up before darting off into the corner.

(Howard the Duck V#6 (fb)) - Howard complained about his situation until a metal orb fell onto the ground, startling Weapon II, who ran up a tree limb, unsheathed his claws and exclaimed that nobody got the drop on him. When the orb began projecting a speaking hologram of Shannon Sugarbaker, Squirrel Girl suggested Weapon II wait to see what the orb had to say before poking it, prompting Weapon II to growl. Weapon II then asked if Squirrel Girl was "Weapon II Girl" and Squirrel Girl introduced herself, assuring Weapon II that he needn't worry since she could not be beat.

When Sugarbaker began the hunt, attacking all captives at once using knock-off cosplay weapons, Weapon II stood to face Sugarbaker as most of the captive heroes fled for cover. Weapon II then announced that Sugarbaker had messed with the wrong Weapon, again announcing that he was the best at what he did as he unsheathed his claws. Shannon Sugarbaker managed to down Weapon II and as he recovered, he monologued about his healing factor, prompting Sugarbaker to claim that no one cared about Weapon II's healing factor and suggest Weapon II stop talking about it. Groaning that his enmity with Sugarbaker was not over, Weapon II was then seemingly swallowed up by the ground as his fellow captives watched from afar.

Suspecting that Weapon II was sent back to Sugarbaker's mansion to be hunted again in the future, Howard the Duck worked with Squirrel Girl to find a way inside Sugarbaker's mansion to find their hunted allies and when Sugarbaker noticed Howard and Squirrel Girl missing, she brought Weapon II and the other recaptured heroes to her grand hall to lure Howard and Squirrel Girl into a trap. Howard ultimately donned Sugarbaker's discard cosplay weapons and took the fight directly to Sugarbaker while Squirrel Girl freed Weapon II and the others during the distraction. Immediately upon being freed using a pair of scissors, Weapon II entered his berserker mode and jumped into battle against Shannon Sugarbaker. Once Sugarbaker had been defeated, her mansion ablaze from the battle, Weapon II willed his berserker mode off and he escaped Sugarbaker's mansion with the other heroes, with Howard the Duck being the last to exit.

(Howard the Duck V#1 (fb)) - Following the battle against Shannon Sugarbaker, first responders spoke with Squirrel Girl as Weapon II skittered around the reclining Howard the Duck's head. As a depressed Howard lay there with Squirrel Girl talking up her involvement, Weapon II growled and unsheathed his claws.

Comments: Created by Chip Zdarsky, Joe Quinones and Joe Rivera.

Weapon II's eye color was impossible to determine, as he was always wearing a visored helmet.

Beast referred to the grouping of animal-like heroes as the "X-Beasts" but this was likely a joke he was making as he yelled "To me, my X-Beasts!" as a battle cry, jokingly referencing his time with the X-Men and Professor X's "catch phrase."

HUGE THANKS to Mike Fichera for his well-researched assistance in the weight approximation for Weapon II!
