Powers/Abilities: Weapon Y wears a pair of energy-projectors on his wrists. These projectors can rapidly fire beams of an unknown type which are powerful enough to damage and destroy furniture and other conventional fixtures and to melt plastics. Their exact destructive potential is unclear, but the Turbo suit was capable of dispersing a direct hit with no obvious damage. Weapon Y also releases some kind of (seemingly unrelated) energy from his left eye. This may be indicative of a mutant ability of some kind, or it may be a technological implant related to his wrist-projectors.

History: (New Warriors Annual#3/3 (fb)) - A reference to Weapon Y appeared in the New York Times.

(New Warriors Annual#3/3) - Mike Jeffries and Mickey Musashi, the pair of students who shared the Turbo battlesuit, attended Comicon in the Renta Plaza hotel in New York City. The headlining guest was Marvel comic writer Fabian Nicieza. Jeffries hoped to have Nicieza sign his zinc edition of X-Force #1. However, while the two waited in line, Weapon Y blasted his way into the convention and declared his intent to destroy Nicieza for embarrassing him by writing a story in which he was defeated by the New Warriors. Nicieza desperately tried to explain that he had simply been setting Weapon Y up as a long-term threat, but the villain was having none of it. Before he could kill the writer, however, Musashi distracted him with a fire hose, giving Jeffries the opportunity to knock Weapon Y across the room. Nicieza escaped, promising himself never to steal a super-villain name from the Times again. The battered Weapon Y blasted Turbo, and, although the suit itself was unharmed, the energy destroyed Turbo's copy of X-Force #1. Enraged, Turbo savagely beat Weapon Y until the police arrived. The police took Weapon Y into custody and escorted Jeffries and Musashi from the premises, protecting them from the angry mob of conventiongoers whose property had been destroyed in the struggle.

Comments: Created by Evan Skolnick, Manny Galan and Brad Vancata.

Well, that was meta.

Weapon Y is, obviously, a ridiculous parody of ridiculous '90s characters. He has almost no backstory, but it is possible, given his name, that he is a mutant experimented on by a government project. Whatever he is, he obviously kind of sucks, since he was handily taken down by the incompetent Jeffries.
