History: (Spider-Man Magazine I#6) - The supervillain Clay Face used his shapeshifting abilities against the heroic Dr. Strange, Water Man and Mr. Freeze.

Comments: Created by Ryan Griffin.

Clay Face was the product of the 1994 Spider-Man Magazine's "Create Your Own Super Hero or Super-Villain" section that ran in most earlier issues of the Magazine. In Clay Face's case, he was created by then-10-year-old Ryan Griffin of Jacksonville, Oregon. As a fringe character, there is nothing to say Clay Face is a native of Earth-616 but there is equally no evidence to say he is not an Earth-616 native either...

Clay Face's origin was never revealed so it was unclear if he was some sort of mutated human, mutant, Inhuman or otherwise...

Obviously, the heroic Mr. Freeze who was an enemy of this Clay Face is not the same character as DC Comics' villainous Mr. Freeze despite the name...

Profile by Proto-Man.
