Powers/Abilities: Aurora is a mutant who can move and fly at superhuman speed with the potential of reaching near light speeds. When Aurora and her brother Northstar are in contact with each other, usually by holding hands, they can release a cascade of photons, creating momentary bursts of light used to fight and/or blind their opponents.

History:
(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Repo Man" (fb) - BTS) - Aurora and her brother Northstar were drafted onto Canada's premiere superhero team by General Chasen of Department H. They became known as Alpha Flight, consisting of Puck, Sasquatch, Shaman, Snowbird, Vindicator and Wolverine.

(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Repo Man" (fb) - BTS) - Wolverine left Alpha Flight for unknown reasons, moving to the United States where he joined the X-Men.

(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Slave Island" - BTS) - Along many other mutants, Aurora and Northstar were apprehended and imprisoned on Genosha. Outfitted with power-dampening collars to prevent them from using their mutant abilities, the imprisoned mutants were made to work as slave-workers to complete a dam which would power a Sentinel factory.

(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Slave Island") - Aurora, Blob, Caliban and other slave-workers were in for a shock when three of the X-Men: Storm, Gambit and Jubilee were also imprisoned and forced to work alongside them. However, when the Magistrates deactivated the collars Storm immediately tried to escape and was quickly rendered immobile by a Sentinel and placed in the "box" (isolation). Not long after, the slave-workers once again stopped work when the Magistrates noticed a fire in the nearby forest (courtesy of time traveler Cable), to be safe all slave-workers were returned to their cells.

   That night, the slave-workers were woken by the optimistic Jubilee, who escaped her cell and urged the mutants to join an uprising. Aurora and the others refused, believing they would be released when the work on the dam was finished. However, the following morning morale had shifted as the mutants told Jubilee they would join the uprising. Sadly Jubilee's uprising failed when she proved unable to deactivate the power-dampening collars, Aurora and Rictor were among those who quickly surrendered.

(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Slave Island" - BTS) - The following day, Gambit acquired the power-dampening collars' key, freed his friends and together agreed to free the slave-workers.

(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Slave Island") - Aurora, Domino, Rictor and many other slave-workers were shocked when the X-Men returned, successfully deactivating the power-dampening collars. Freed, Aurora, Northstar and the others joined the X-Men in their fight against the Magistrates and Sentinels. Having defeated them, Jubilee urged the former slaves to help them deal with the Sentinel factory. Sunfire, speaking for the former slaves refused reminding her of their last failed uprising and explained they would take over Genosha as a whole after which they left. To deal with the Sentinel factory, Storm then summoned a powerful storm causing the dam to collapse and destroy the factory.

(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Repo Man" (fb) - BTS) - The years following Wolverine's defection, Department H and General Chasen repeatedly tried to duplicate the process that gave Wolverine his Adamantium skeleton. With the results less than encouraging, Chasen planned to bring Wolverine "home" to examine the mutant. Chasen contacted Alpha Flight, falsely promising to get Wolverine back so he could work with Alpha Flight again. To do so Heather Hudson asked Wolverine to come and meet her in the Canadian wilderness.

(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Repo Man") - Aurora and the full force of Alpha Flight witnessed Wolverine's arrival and confronted him. Believing he'd fallen into a trap Wolverine attacked his former teammates who quickly retaliated. During the battle that followed Aurora and Northstar joined forces as they picked Wolverine up into the air, hoping he'd stop fighting. Wolverine, however, pushed the siblings' heads together, knocking them out. Not long after the siblings managed to slow Wolverine down long enough for Puck and Sasquatch to strike and take him out. Alpha Flight then brought Wolverine to Department H where General Chasen and Heather Hudson waited to examine the mutant while the team was forced to wait outside.

   Curious to learn what they were doing with Wolverine, Aurora and the others waited outside the lab, eavesdropping, the team learned Chasen wished to remove Wolverine's Adamantium. Appalled, Aurora and Alpha Flight bursted into the lab but were countered by Department H's security androids. As the fight went on, Wolverine managed to free himself and after destroying several androids and chase off General Chasen, tried to flee but was stopped by Vindicator who'd kept a grudge ever since Wolverine's defection. Vindicator tried to stop Wolverine but when Wolverine tried to kill the team's leader he was stopped by Heather Hudson. Promised to spare his life, Wolverine threatened to other members of Alpha Flight he wouldn't hold back if they came after him. Northstar and the others watched as Wolverine left Department H.

(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "The Phoenix Saga - Part V: Child of Light") - When Earth suffered a multitude of environmental disasters, Aurora and Alpha Flight did their best to help the people of Earth. They were seen saving people near ruins in Athens, Greece during a powerful storm. Aurora, like other heroes of Earth was unaware the disasters were the result of the Shi'ar emperor D'Ken using the M'Kraan Crystal.
