History:

(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Repo Man" (fb)) - While tracking wildlife in the Canadian wilderness, Heather Hudson and her husband James encountered a feral, amnesiac Logan who had recently escaped from the Weapon X laboratory. Mistaking James's tranquilizer gun for a lethal weapon, Logan believed them to be hostile and attacked. Fearing for her husband's life, Heather shot Logan with several tranquilizer darts until he collapsed. Wanting to help the injured man, the Hudsons brought him back to their home, where they restrained him to the bed due to the dangerous metal claws extending from his hands.

(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Repo Man" (fb)) - Over time, the couple nursed Logan back to health, helping him read, clothing him in James's old clothes, and slowly restoring his sense of stability. Believing that their contacts in Department H, particularly General Chasen, could provide him with proper support, James introduced Logan to serve Canada and its citizens. Convinced that Logan could be a valuable asset to Alpha Flight, James provided him with a yellow-and-blue combat suit. Logan accepted the offer, initially designated Weapon X, but chose the name Wolverine, which he felt suited him better.

(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Repo Man" (fb) - BTS) - Wolverine left Alpha Flight for unrevealed reasons, moving to the United States where he joined the X-Men. The years following Wolverine's defection, Department H and General Chasen repeatedly tried to duplicate the process that gave Wolverine his Adamantium skeleton. With the results less than encouraging, Chasen planned to bring Wolverine "home" to examine the mutant. Chasen contacted Hudson and Alpha Flight, falsely promising to get Wolverine back so he could work with Alpha Flight again. To do so Heather Hudson asked Wolverine to come and meet her in the Canadian wilderness.

(X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon - "Repo Man") - The full force of Alpha Flight witnessed Wolverine's arrival and confronted him. Believing he had fallen into a trap, Wolverine attacked his former teammates, who quickly retaliated and incapacitate him. Alpha Flight transported Wolverine to Department H, where General Chasen and Heather Hudson awaited to examine him, while the rest of the team, except for Vindicator, was ordered to remain outside.

    With Wolverine restrained in Department H's laboratory, Vindicator stayed nearby as Heather Hudson and General Chasen entered. Chasen revealed his intention to duplicate Wolverine's adamantium, explaining that Heather had agreed to assist only if she were allowed to conduct the testing herself, hoping to minimize Wolverine's suffering. Enraged by what he saw as betrayal, Wolverine shouted at Heather, only to be cut off by Vindicator, who insisted that Department H were his friends and that Wolverine had betrayed them by leaving to join Xavier. As testing began, Wolverine cried out in pain, prompting Heather to shut down the procedure, unwilling to hurt him further. Furious, Chasen berated her, but Heather explained that she had scanned as deeply as possible, learned nothing new, and that they were only causing needless pain. Chasen concluded that the only way to learn more about the adamantium was to forcibly remove it. While Vindicator listened in silence, a horrified Heather objected, stating that Wolverine was not an animal to be dissected. Chasen coldly blamed Wolverine, claiming his desertion had weakened Department H. In response, Heather quit on the spot, throwing her badge at Chasen. Shocked, Vindicator tried to stop her, but Heather reminded him that he knew the situation was wrong. Torn and uncertain, Vindicator attempted to keep his wife away from Chasen, once again blaming Wolverine for abandoning them.

    Meanwhile, Alpha Flight, who had been forced to wait outside, overheard the confrontation and burst into the lab to rescue Wolverine, only to be opposed by Department H's security androids. As the battle escalated, Wolverine broke free, destroyed several androids, and drove General Chasen away. Attempting to escape, he was stopped by Vindicator, whose resentment clouded his judgment. When Wolverine nearly killed him, Heather intervened, stopping the fight. Promising to spare Vindicator's life, Wolverine warned the other members of Alpha Flight that he would not hold back if they pursued him again. Vindicator and the team watched as Wolverine departed Department H.

When, in 2015's Secret Wars, the Multiverse was destroyed following the incursions of planets it appeared as if Reality-92131 was drafted onto Battleworld as the Westchester domain. However, this has since been debunked. As such the reality seen in the two volumes of X-Men '92 (2015 and 2016-2017) now have their own reality-designation of Earth-15730. The X-Men '92: House of XCII (2022) series was inspired by both the animated series and Hickman's House of X run but is its own separate reality. The limited series X-Men '97 (2024), however, is Reality-92131 and bridges the gap between the original X-Men: The Animated Series cartoon and the new X-Men '97: The Animated Series cartoon.
