Powers/Abilities: Det. Benny Simmons had no superhuman powers but, as a police officer, he presumably carried a standard issue firearm and other gear such as a flashlight. He was a skilled detective, recognizing organs as alien in nature from looking at them.

History: (Heroes for Hire II#2 (fb) - BTS) - A thirty year veteran of the NYPD, Det. Benny Simmons was on friendly enough terms with Misty Knight that she referred to him as her "old friend."

(Heroes for Hire II#2) - Det. Simmons phoned Misty Knight, who then informed her Heroes for Hire teammates that they would need to make a pit stop before confronting Captain America. Meeting with Det. Simmons, the Heroes for Hire learned that Simmons had been watching an abandoned building, thinking it was a meth lab. By the time Simmons and his officers had gotten a warrant, the building had been once more abandoned but while leading the Heroes for Hire into what appeared to be a former organ harvesting lab, Simmons commented that it appeared that the harvesters had moved from human organs to something else. After seeing the lab, Misty asked Det. Simmons for one of the organ-harvesting boxes and the Heroes for Hire prepared to visit Reed Richards to get his input.
