(Generation X II#5 (fb) - BTS) - The boy who would become known as Rat King was the son of the Piper, one of the Morlocks slaughtered by the Marauders. Unable to deal with his father's death, he decided to one day avenge both him and the alligators under his command.

(Generation X II#5 (fb) ) - Known as the Animal Don of Central Park, the Rat King used his mutant ability to psionically force the animals to work for him. The animals would steal money, electronics, jewelry and other valuables.

(Generation X II#5 - BTS) - When one of the Rat King's raccoons stole the wallet of X-Men student Rockslide it was noticed by his classmate Eye-Boy who in turn convinced his friend Nature Girl to join him in tracking the animal to retrieve Rockslide's wallet. The mutants eventually found the raccoon and after Nature Girl had freed the animal of hypnosis he gladly revealed it was the Rat King who'd forced him and other animals to steal from humans. Determined to stop the thief, Eye-Boy did his best to appeal to the animals in Central Park to join them in defeating the Rat King and reclaim their freedom.

(Generation X II#5) - The Rat King sat on his "throne" made out of garbage when the two mutant teenagers and a horde of animals arrived. Rat King immediately used his flute to take control of all the animals and was even able to control Nature Girl. Eye-Boy quickly realized he was unable to free Nature Girl and therefore knew he had to take down the Rat King who sent a group of rats after him. When one of the rodents bit his hand he tossed the animals right at the King's face which knocked the flute out of his hands. Eye-Boy grabbed the flute and snapped it apart which broke the King's hold over the animals and Nature Girl. They all turned on the powerless mutant.

(Generation X II#5 - BTS) - The X-Men students not only found Rockslide's wallet but also retrieved Roxy's ring.
