History:

(X-Men II#171 - BTS) - While at Xavier's, Bling!, Flubber, Onyxx and Rain Boy were selected to join one of the special training squads mentored by various members of the X-Men. They were placed on the Chevaliers, led by Gambit.

(X-Men II#171) - The Chevaliers participated in a training session in the Danger Room where they had to attack their tutor Gambit. Midway their fight the Danger Room's simulation was stopped by Headmistress Emma Frost who came to introduce new student Foxx whom she had decided to place on the Chevaliers squad. Unbeknownst to the X-Men Foxx was the shapechanging X-Men villain Mystique who had come to infiltrate the X-Men. However during her introduction Foxx already made sexual advances towards Gambit, asking for one-on-one sessions to catch up with the other students. During their lunch break Flubber, Bling! and Onyxx played a game of baseball when they noticed another one of the teachers, Rogue brushing off Foxx. Later that night Flubber alongside Onyxx and Foxx participated in another training exercise with Gambit in the Danger Room.

(X-Men II#172) - Gambit took his Chevaliers on a field exercise as he tried to get some breathing space to deal with his relation issues with Rogue. While Flubber, Bling!, Onyxx and Rain Boy enjoyed a cool spring they once again noticed how Foxx tried to seduce Gambit, prompting Bling! to ask if she could throw up. While diving in the water Flubber asked Onyxx why Foxx wouldn't give him those double entendres which caused Onyxx to become jealous. Later that night while Foxx made a campfire Bling! decided to confront Foxx with her behavior, telling her she was upsetting and changing the whole team dynamic. While the two ended up in a fight the other members of the Chevaliers decided to confront Gambit with his behavior towards Foxx, feeling they had to look out for their teammate's welfare. Gambit was less than pleased his students thought he would seduce a student and when Foxx suddenly appeared from the shadows Gambit explained he found it "magnifique" they would support each other. Gambit continued that if they would disappear from his sight in ten seconds he would forget their "mutiny", somewhat scared the students returned to their camp. The next morning the Chevaliers returned to Xavier's, that very night Gambit came to the conclusion to transfer Foxx to another class under another tutor. But when he broke the news to Foxx Mystique finally chose to reveal her true identity.

(X-Men II#173) - While the X-Men dealt with Mystique who just explained she wished to join the X-Men the Chevaliers enjoyed some burgers and sodas. Discussing who would win in a fight, Gambit or Havok which led to the boys talk about whether Gambit had cheated on Rogue or not. And while Bling! wondered where Foxx could be, Rain Boy was already over the subject and asked who would win in a fight, Wolverine or Beast.

(X-Men II#174) - The next morning the Chevaliers witnessed the arrival of several senior X-Men members who had come to decide whether Mystique could join the X-Men or not. Onyxx wondered if they'd come to punish them because of their little rebellion against Gambit but having learned Foxx's true identity Bling! explained the true reason. Hearing that the girl he liked was in fact a fake drove Onyxx mad, it took all of his teammates to calm him down. Onyxx, however, was still upset Mystique had deliberately tried to upset him and decided to confront Mystique in her prison. In the end Mystique chose to leave Xavier's on her own will.

(House of M I#8 - BTS) - When millions of mutants lost their powers when a reality altering spell cast by the Scarlet Witch reduced the number of gene active mutants to a mere 300 worldwide, both Rain Boy and Flubber lost their powers.

(New X-Men II#23 - BTS) - Bling! and Onyxx were the only two remaining members of the Chevaliers.

(New X-Men II#23) - Two weeks after the global depowering that had become known as M-Day all student training squads disbanded since only twenty-five X-Students had retained their powers. Xavier Institute headmaster Emma Frost pitted all remaining students against each other in a battle royale to choose a team who would go on to train as New X-Men. Onyxx was stoked he would be allowed to fight the other students and bumped fists with Rockslide who thought it was the best day of his life. Bling! attacked Surge but was pushed aside after which she tried to hit X-23 with her diamond-like shards, X-23 however, easily evaded them. Onyxx had his sights set on X-23 but was unable to hit her since Hellion rescued her. After the battle was finished seven students were chosen to train as X-Men, none of the former Chevaliers were chosen. Not much later, Xavier Institute headmasters Cyclops and Emma Frost decided all depowered students should return home for their own safety. A first busload of students had already left when a second, carrying another 42 former mutant teens, was blown up. The attack was carried out by the Purifiers who were acting on the orders from their leader, the Reverend William Stryker.

This profile is focussed on the Chevaliers as a group, their individual members made other appearances which you can read about in their individual profiles.

Although officially unrevealed it's safe to assume Rain Boy and Flubber lost their mutant powers during M-Day. It's not been revealed if either of them boarded one of the buses that exploded. They could potentially still be alive and kicking, although chances are slim for them to ever show up again.

The Chevaliers name was revealed in the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A-Z HC#13, which also revealed the real names of the team members.
