History: (Young Avengers I#12 - BTS) - Cancer, the Gemini twins, and Taurus held the United Nations hostage. Their plot was interfered with by the Young Avengers.
(New Warriors IV#4) - Led by Scorpio, the Zodiac ravaged downtown Manhattan in their quest to use Earth's alignment with Mercury to reveal the location of the powerful Baal Abib. Confronted by the Initiative, the Zodiac made short work of their adversaries and continued to read the stars until their circle was interrupted by the New Warriors. Separated, the Zodiac fought back, failing to gain much ground until Cancer used her powers against Longstrike, reducing her to a withered husk. (see comments)
(New Warriors IV#5) - Furious by the death of his sister, Phaser shot at Libra who routed the blast back at him. Taking advantage of the Warriors' shock over Longstrike's death, the Zodiac got the upper hand against them but were soon thrown into disarray by the appearance of former mutant, Sofia Mantega. Facing defeat, the Zodiac teleported away.

Cancer is referred to as a male in Young Avengers, but is female in New Warriors. Presumably Speed failed to get a close enough look at Cancer to tell her gender, unless the male Cancer was replaced after the incident at the U.N.
In the Zodiac's New Warriors appearances Scorpio speaks of "(summoning) the others" and "completing the circle". It's unclear exactly what Scorpio's what he meant by that, but it's possible "completing the circle" entailed filling the absent roles of Capricorn and Gemini. By that same token, it's unclear what happened to the Gemini twins after her encounter with the Young Avengers; if they were imprisoned following that event, they may have been spared the fates of their teammates.
It was suspected that this Zodiac was the shadowy Zodiac associated with the Scorpio that fought the Avengers as part of a larger scheme. This was clarified in the Dark Reign Files handbook, which revealed that they are separate incarnations of the Zodiac. Any connection because of the shared appearance of both Scorpios is unrevealed as yet.
Most of the Zodiac's ranks were unnamed in their appearances. They've been given names in this profile based on their appearances, but as they're unofficially assigned, are subject to change.

After defeating a team of Initiative recruits and holding back the New York Police Department, Aquarius fell to Skybolt of the New Warriors and was encased in ice.

After defeating a team of Initiative recruits and holding back the New York Police Department, Cancer was momentarily deterred by the arrival of the New Warriors but quickly recovered and used her powers to ravage Longstrike with cancer.
(New Warriors IV#5) - As Longstrike succumbed to Cancer's attack, her brother, Phaser, lashed out at the Zodiac, blinding Cancer and Libra. After being trapped in ice by Tempest, Cancer was teleported away with the rest of the Zodiac by Scorpio.

After defeating a team of Initiative recruits and holding back the New York Police Department, Libra was injured during a bombardment of energy blasts by Phaser of the New Warriors.
(New Warriors IV#5) - Recovering, Libra absorbed a second blast from Phaser, sending it back at him. After firing an energy beam at a nearby child who tried rallying the Warriors on, Libra was blinded by Phaser; soon after she was teleported away with her teammates by Scorpio.

(New Warriors IV#5) - Recovering, Scorpio tried to resume the search for Baal Abib, but found his plans interupted again during an attack by former mutant Sofia Mantega. Regaining control, Scorpio opted to cut his losses and teleport his teammates to safety. As he left, Scorpio swore revenge against the Warriors.

Recovering, Taurus continued to combat Decibel and Wondra while Cancer murdered their fellow Warrior, Longstrike.
(New Warriors IV#5) - Overpowering Decibel and Wondra, Taurus was ultimately taken down by a stray blast from Scorpio. Facing defeat by the New Warriors, Scorpio teleported Taurus and the other members of the Zodiac away.
