Powers/Abilities: Scorpio wielded a Zodiac Key which he used to channel energy blasts, control the order and chaos aspects of the In-Betweener, and teleport. Even when deprived of the Key, he could channel energy blasts from his eyes.

History: (Avengers III#60 (fb) - BTS) - The man who eventually became Scorpio was once studying to be a surgeon, until he became aware of his own irrelevance within the universe. He became determined to become someone who mattered. A Zodiac Key from the Ankh Dimension sensed his emotions and sought him out, transforming him into the new Scorpio. He learned that the last millennium had unraveled "incorrectly," and that the Key was needed to ensure the following thousand years would unravel correctly. He then used the Key to divide the In-Betweener into his order and chaos selves.

(Avengers III#57 - BTS) - Scorpio used the In-Betweener's power to cause the capital cities of nations across the Earth to vanish and reappear in the Ankh Dimension.

(Avengers III#58) - Scorpio discovered the Wasp and Yellowjacket amongst the people brought to the Ankh Dimension, and confronted them.

(Avengers III#59) - Scorpio tortured Yellowjacket, and taunted him about the nature of destiny.

(Avengers III#60) - The In-Betweener's order half sent several of the Avengers to the Ankh Dimension, where they confronted Scorpio. He revealed some of his origins to them, then assaulted them with the Zodiac Key. The Falcon had his pet falcon Redwing remove the Key from Scorpio's hand, giving them a chance to press forward, but he fired an energy blast from his eyes that restored the Key to his hand. He then unleashed the Brotherhood of the Ankh upon the Avengers. Ultimately, Ant-Man buried Scorpio within a mountain of his pet scorpions. When the In-Betweener's two selves were merged back together, Scorpio fled the scene.

Afterwards, Scorpio met with the rest of the Zodiac organization he belonged to, and told them "They think I'm just another one of those costumed idiots. Trying to annihilate the world. Rule it. Whatever it is they do." The Zodiac congratulated Scorpio, and declared that the next time they would strike together.

(Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe A-Z HC#14 - Zodiac) - Scorpio cut his ties to his Zodiac group and gathered a new, but incomplete Zodiac group.

(New Warriors IV#4) - Scorpio led the Zodiac in Manhattan as they attempted to use Earth's alignment with Mercury to reveal the location of Baal Abib. After defeating a team of Initiative recruits and holding back the New York Police Department, Scorpio joined his teammates against the New Warriors, withstanding an attack by Wondra but falling to Longstrike.

(New Warriors IV#5) - Recovering, Scorpio tried to resume the search for Baal Abib, but found his plans interupted again during an attack by former mutant Sofia Mantega. Regaining control, Scorpio opted to cut his losses and teleport his teammates to safety. As he left, Scorpio swore revenge against the Warriors.

(Dark Reign: Zodiac#1 (fb) - BTS) - The Zodiac were murdered by a new one-man Zodiac, who killed them to free up the name for himself.

(Dark Reign: Zodiac#1) - The one-man Zodiac carried the decapitated heads of the Zodiac in a bag, emptying them before the Clown as an example of his power.

(Dark Reign: Zodiac#2) - Scorpio's head was mounted on a wall in Zodiac's headquarters.

Comments: Created by Geoff Johns, Kieron Dwyer and Rick Remender.

Perhaps the Libra in this Scorpio's Zodiac is the same one from "First Sign?" We never did see the rest of his Zodiac, after all.

The Zodiac Key has an entry in the All-New OHotMU Upate#3. In OHotMU A-Z HC#14 it was revealed that this Scorpio was the same as the one later seen in New Warriors IV.
