Powers/Abilities/Functions: The Scrying Gem is a large-sized mystical item that permits instantaneous communication between beings around the world initiated by someone concentrating on it.
History:
(Strange II#4) - With magic itself in turmoil due to the machinations of the demon Virilian, Dr. Strange used the Scrying Gem at his Greenwich Village sanctum to contact various other magic users and magic-empowered beings, including Black Knight, Captain Britain, Dr. Doom, Dr. Voodoo, Ghost Rider (Blaze), Daimon Hellstrom, Magik, Silver Dagger and Sister Grimm. Strange implored each one to refrain from using magic while he helped the cosmic being Eternity, despite the violent chaos in progress. Dr. Strange then had his new student, Casey Kinmont, hold the Gem while he traveled on the astral plane to heal Eternity. Strange told Kinmont to seek out Laroximous Boneflayer, the demon who held Kinmont's soul. Kinmont found him via the Gem, but fell while fighting off Silver Dagger. She dropped the Gem, whose facets each showed a magic user still trying to combat the magical chaos.
