Powers/Abilities: Kali had been created to be a mighty warrior with a resilient armored and four-armed body with which she could expertly wield a variety of weapons. She rode on giant winged spiders in aggressive and obsessive pursuit of her prey. She had several minions who rode with her on the backs of other flying spiders.

History:

(Iceman I#3 (fb) - BTS) - The abstract entity Oblivion created Kali, giving her physical form and special powers that made her the greatest of its warriors.

(Iceman I#2) - In the wake of White Light's and Idiot's failure, Oblivion assigned her the task of capturing its wayward "daughter", Mirage, who had since fled to Earth and across time. Using a portal generated by Oblivion, Kali followed the emanations of the Bounce-Box, a device used by Mirage to jump in time to escape her pursuers. However, Iceman had gained possession of it and unwittingly set it off, casting him back in time to 1942, where he encountered his parents, William Drake and Madelaine Bass, before he had even been born. Advised by her minions, Kali chased after the Bounce-Box, leading a horde of flying spiders. She smashed into William Drake's home, calling for Mirage. Iceman fought Kali back as he drew her away from those who would later be his parents. Believing Iceman to be Mirage's pawn, she tried to beat Mirage's whereabouts out of Iceman, who unwillingly saw his father die at the hands of Kali's troopers. Wishing to draw Kali away from Iceman, Mirage's face appeared, challenging Oblivion's warrior to enter the doorway created by Mirage. Without a second thought, Kali and her minions charged through the portal. William Drake's death from Kali's attack caused the divergent timeline of Earth-8501, in which Iceman had never been born.

(Iceman I#3 - BTS) - Kali battled Mirage, but was defeated with Mirage leaving her mindless and babbling. Oblivion brought her back to its dimension.

(Iceman I#3) - In order to show Iceman the true nature of Mirage, Oblivion showed him the defeated and brutalized form of Kali.

Comments: Created by J.M. DeMatteis (writer), Alan Kupperberg (pencils) and Mike Gustovich (inks).

Excepting Mirage, Kali had no known interaction with any of Oblivion's other offspring.

The creation and identification of the divergent timeline from Kali's attack is confirmed in the OHotMU A-Z, vol. 8.
