History:

(Excalibur Annual#1/1 (fb)) - Eons ago, a spacecraft of unknown origin released silvery objects that made their way to nearby Irth and fostered the development of teknomystical abilities of Irth's inhabitants. War raged across Irth for millennia, eventually developing into division between the surface dwellers (humans, fair elves, half elves) and those underground (dark elves, goblins, dwarves), with technowizards ruling. The dark dwellers later overcame those on the surface on one continent called Dungertheb and altered its appearance with dark spires. The humans and surface elves there were cast into slave labor, but one human traitor, Ghath, who led the dark ones, sought more to conquer. Elsewhere, Khaos, heir to the dark elf throne, was spirited away after birth and raised by fair elven royalty, but had to overcome bigotry and opposition to survive. Eventually he saw his destiny as heir to the two great Irth thrones to end the continuing war. He raised an army and took over the island of Ameroth, then declared a ceasefire. However, the extremist Ghath refused to comply and targeted the island to reach another continent, Terr'va, but was captured and teknomagically cast adrift across dimensions, landing on Earth-616. Despite the distance, Ghath was still able to wreak havoc on Irth but was eventually pursued by Khaos.

(Excalibur Annual#1/1) - Ghath and Khaos, the latter accompanied by the team Excalibur of Earth-616, returned to Irth to continue their battle, arriving on Ameroth via a portal. However, Ghath had secured additional time and had raised an armed fleet that attacked Ameroth, but it was soundly defeated and Ghath slain. Excalibur returned to their home dimension with Khaos unwittingly and unwillingly also sent there. Khaos' dreams of peace and unity for Irth seemed to have been put on hold.

Comments: Created by Evan Skolnick (writer), Chris Marrinan & Audwynn Newman (pencils) and Mark McKenna, Danny Bulandi & Keith Williams (inks).

Of note is that time passes at a faster rate on Earth-9339, with one week on Earth-616 seeming to equal seven months on Irth.

Khaos' home dimension's designation was confirmed in the OHotMU. It has a similar continental layout to Earth, although the distances seem a bit shorter.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Earth-9339 (Irth) has no known connections to:

Technowizards

Technowizards

The Technowizards ruled Irth, who allowed the conflict and division to continue. Ghath likely ranked as the most powerful. Their rule would likely have been usurped by the return of Khaos.
