Powers/Abilities: Mr. Lightning was an expert juggler, and a quick-draw with a gun, but his aim did not match his reflexes.

History: (Rawhide Kid I#34) - Mr. Lightning was a juggler in a traveling carnival, and amazed crowds with his abilities, but was disappointed by his meager pay. An old man suggested to him that he become a gunfighter, because no one could match his quick-draw. He thought the old man was crazy, but after giving it some thought, went out and bought a pair of colts, then practiced until he was a fast draw.

Mr. Lightning then sought out the fastest gun in town, and outdrew him in a gunfight. He went on challenging other gunmen, and sold himself out to earn money. Hearing people say that only the Rawhide Kid could outdraw him, he decided to chase down the Kid and settle the matter. He found the Rawhide Kid in Paso Flats, and challenged him to a draw. Mr. Lightning outdrew the Kid, and winged him in the arm. Pleased with his work, Mr. Lightning then left the Kid alone, and became a hero in the town for what he had done.

In the weeks that followed, Mr. Lightning began to terrorize the area, committing robberies, confidant in his quick-draw. The Rawhide Kid found him in Red Gap, and challenged him to another draw. Although Mr. Lightning outdrew him again, he missed the Kid. As he fired his second shot, the Rawhide Kid fired his first shot, and hit Mr. Lightning's bullet in midair. Frightened, Mr. Lightning surrendered, and promised the Rawhide Kid that he would never touch a gun again.
