History:
(Captain Marvel I#37) - Nimrod had waited for Captain Marvel at the top of the
atmosphere for an unspecified period of time, probably days.
After having defeated the Living Laser, Captain Marvel started his trip to the Moon,
and reached the highest part of the atmosphere. There, Nimrod hit Captain Marvel at
full speed, with a strong blow. He claimed that he attacked Marvel in revenge
for Nitro, the Living Laser, Marvel's friendship with the Terrestrials, and for a
personal satisfaction. Nimrod tried to blast Mar-Vell again, but the Captain was
too fast for the hunter. Captain Marvel hurled him away and with only a kick
smashed it on pieces, revealing what he had easily understood with his
"cosmic awareness": Nimrod was only a robot.
Comments: Created by Steve Englehart, Al Milgrom and Klaus Janson.
It is unclear how Nimrod hit Captain Marvel the first time. It seems it rammed the Kree, but if so, it should be very strange that Captain Marvel easily shattered him with a single blow, actually, very less strong than the first. So, probably Nimrod got close to the Captain and blasted him at that distance.
Despite the fact that the fight happens just outside the Earth's atmosphere, Al Milgrom drew the moon and 2 or 3 other planetoids on the background!
