History:
(The Solution#9 (fb) - BTS) - The Vyr were known
across the incredibly vast disc of diverse domains known as the Wold as
brutal and and extremely powerful wizards. Their most prized possession
was the powerful Vorlexx crystal, but it corrupted users' psyche into
demonic creatures pursuing destruction.
(The Solution#12 (fb) - BTS) - The Vyr captured and
mutilated many people from different races of the Wold, experimenting
on them using dark magic, and left the bodies hanging in part of their
large lair.
(The Solution#9 (fb) - BTS) - The mystic Aerwan
people found
out that the Vyr were planning to use the Vorlexx for the genocide. The
Aerwans sent Aera to
steal it for their own war. She was successful, but killed a Vyr wizard
in the effort,
then fled to Earth and hid the crystal near Paris. The theft and death
led to massive war between the Aerwan and Darkurians. On Earth, decades
passed until the remaining Vyr finally tracked Aera to Earth, vengefully
intending to jail and torture her for decades.
(The Solution#8) - Aera (now calling herself
Shadowmage) warned her newfound
teammates (Dropkick, Outrage and Tech; together the four comprised the
team the Solution) of the imminent arrival of the Vyr and that she
needed their help. Later, the Vyr arrived somewhere in North America
via a teleportation breach spell; in Hong Kong, Shadowmage felt a
sudden shock
inside her.
(The Solution#9) - The Vyr cast a
seeker spell and
summoned a bestial creature with similar characteristics of bone and
flame. The Vyr leader showed the Seeker an
image of Aera and it flew off to relentlessly find its prey. Meanwhile,
Shadowmage explained the situation to her teammates, but received
little sympathy from her Darkurian counterpart. They retrieved the
Vorlexx but the Seeker suddenly arrived and attacked, completely
overwhelming the others. With Shadowmage now located, the Vyr magically
breached in and took her away while her teammates were distracted,
although she was able to throw the Vorlexx to Tech. No longer need by
the Vyr, the Seeker disappeared.
(The Solution#10) - Tech used the
Vorlexx to teleport the remaining Solution members to the Wold where
they encountered the mysterious Harmonica
and his universal tool metallic-like tool Angie.
Harmonica agreed to help them as long as he could destroy the Vorlexx
later. Dropkick tried to use
the Vorlexx to teleport them away, but its power had been secretly
negated by the Vyr in a bid to trap them and retrieve the Vorlexx.
Shadowmage was bound amidst the technomagic lair of the Vyr as they
remotely watched the quartet argue.
(The Solution#11) - The Solution and
Harmonica
were confronted by warring by Aerwan and Darkurian armies. In a bid to
stop the war and
steadily corrupted by the Vorlexx's dark power, Tech attempted to use
the crystal to
destroy, but it instead teleported the quartet to the Vyr's enclave
before the three towering wizards.
(The Solution#12) - The Vyr revealed
Shadowmage had
killed one of them using the Vorlexx when she stole the crystal. While
Tech and Dropkick
tried futilely to fight the Vyr, Outrage and Harmonica, familiar with
the incredibly powerful Vyr, did nothing. Dismissing the four as no
threat, the Vyr left with the Vorlexx. Harmonica told Tech
and Dropkick of the Vyr's
near invulnerability, then used Angie to navigate the Vyr's base of
bizarre techno-organic tunnels. They freed Shadowmage, but realizing
this, the Vyr arrived and attacked with
their dark magic. Harmonica used Angie to distract the Vyr, then
teleported himself and the Solution team back to New York, although
the
Vorlexx was left behind with the Vyr.

Their size seemed to vary a little
throughout the story, but they generally were at least 20' tall. I's
assume this was the appearance for their species and not their
corrupted look, but who know? We're never treated to them again.
Indeed, they may even have wiped out their fellow species. Very funky
design. The one with the moose-like horns is the leader.
This profile was completed 08/08/2026 but its publication
was delayed, as it was intended for the Appendix's 25th anniversary
celebratory event.

CLARIFICATIONS:
Vyr has no known connections to:
- any other "Vyr" characters/groups
Seeker
The Seeker was a creature that was
magically summoned by the Vyr to hunt down Shadowmage. Once shown its
target, the Seeker targeted its prey, relentlessly pursuing it. Like
the
Vyr, it was nearly indestructible. The Seeker was powered and
protected by arcane
Wold magic. Earth weapons were useless against it, While the Solution
team were busy fighting it, the Vyr magically breach teleported in,
having followed the Seeker, and took Shadowmage away. No longer
needed,
the Seeker disappeared.
