Powers/Abilities: Squidge was a small mammal/rodent
animal. Similar to a rabbit from Earth it had four legs, large ears and
rodent-like teeth. The animal was considered to have a simple soul and
trusted its owner as one its own kind.
When twisted by Illyana Rasputin's magic it became a pink feral demon with razor-sharp claws and teeth.

History:
(Magik I#3 - BTS) - The small creature only known as Squidge was an
animal who inhabited the dimension known as limbo or Otherplace.
(Magik I#3 (fb) - BTS) - Due to it's harmless nature, Illyana Rasputin -- become trapped in Otherplace by it's ruler and demon-mage Belasco who planned to have her follow in his footsteps -- chose the animal to become her pet. Raising the animal since birth, Illyana called it Squidge after the strange and delightful noises it made when vocalizing. As the young girl loved her pet, Squidge in turn trusted Illyana as one of its own kind.
(Magik I#3) - Coached by Belasco, Illyana was tasked to show the demon-mage the skills she'd learned. Already corrupted by his influence, Illyana used her the soulspell on her favorite pet Squidge and corrupted it's simple soul into an image of her own making. The spell proved successful as the small animal was transformed into a feral pink demon who instantly attacked Illyana. Shocked at its action, Illyana swatted the creature away. But when the feral Squidge tried to flee it was captured and devoured by the corrupted Cat (Kitty Pryde). With the threat at hand dealt with, Belasco expressed his disappointment in Illyana as she'd performed her soulspell without thought of its consequences.

Otherplace is of course best known for its demons but the dimension also houses several races of animals that resemble animals like horses, antelopes, lions, tigers, lizards who can all be seen in the original Magik series.
This profile was completed 07/30/2024, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 25th anniversary's celebratory event.
