Powers/Abilities: Scourge is highly skilled at armed and unarmed combat, and she's will to use things like a jab to the eyes and/or throwing a bag or jacket into an opponent's face to blind them and catch them off guard.

She uses a variety of weapons, including daggers (with which she can fight and throw), throwing star-like weapons and guns.

She is a skilled tightrope walker and is presumably an expert in some areas of Canada's legal system in the 82^nd Century A.D.

(Dragon's Claws#7 (fb) - BTS) - The woman who would become Scourge was formerly a lawyer, blindly trusting the system.

(Dragon's Claws#7 (fb) - BTS) - Inspired by the former vigilante Mercy, who slew those who had escaped justice, an unidentified woman established the identity of Scourge and began a similar mission. She adopted the black dagger symbol that Mercy had pinned on the bodies of those upon which she had passed judgment. She considered that after Mercy had joined Dragon's Claws, she had sold out. scourge-8162-face-dagger

(Dragon's Claws#6 (fb) - BTS) - Scourge slew five people who had either been cleared of or had bought their way out of criminal charges.

(Dragon's Claws#6 (fb) - BTS) - After World Development Court executive Barker was found to be innocent of extortion charges, Scourge slew him, wrote "guilty" on his forehead, left behind her signature miniature black dagger and fled.

(Dragon's Claws#6) - As Dragon's Claws approached the World Development Court's Canadian seat of government in Montreal, Scourge dove out through a window and fled.

(Dragon's Claws#6 - BTS) - After an agent of the WDC yelled to stop her as she had just killed a man, Dragon sent some of his agents after, and Scavenger, Steel and Digit followed Scavenger's dog, Scratch, who had caught her her scent.

Inspecting the scene of her exodus, Mercy recognized the miniature black dagger she had left behind as similar to the type she used as a mark to identify her victims. Mr. Hone related how Barker was the sixth person slain thusly but that Barker had been cleared by internal investigations.

(Dragon's Claws#6 (fb) - BTS) - Mercy secretly pursued the killer independently from the rest of the Dragon's Claws.

(Dragon's Claws#6 - BTS) - Suspecting that the vigilante would next target Milos Judden, who had recently been exonerated of crimes under dubious circumstances, Mercy trailed him. While part of her wanted to let the killer rid the world of Judden, Mercy knew that she had to stop her.

(Dragon's Claws#6) - Spotting the vigilante, Mercy followed her across the tightrope wire only for the vigilante to spot her and hurl her dagger to cut the rope, causing Mercy to fall toward the ground numerous stories below.

(Dragon's Claws#7) - Scourge observed as Mercy caught the edge of cable, painfully halting her descent but swinging her through a glass window. While she considered her pursuer to no longer be a threat, Judden spotted her and correctly assessed that she was coming for him. He ordered his bodyguards, Mick and Paulie, to kill her, but she introduced herself as Scourge, somersaulted below their gunfire and then took out both men with some sort of throwing-star-like weapon.

Scourge then put her gun to Judden's face and accused him of killing or ordering the death of others, but before she could fire, the revived Mercy kicked the gun from her hands. Recognizing Mercy, Scourge stated that she thought she would understand. As the two women fought with daggers, Scourge stunned Mercy with a jab to the eyes and then questioned whether Dragon's Claws had corrupted her from the true and righteous path. Scourge considered that Mercy didn't deserve to live, but when a police aircar arrived, she was forced to flee. Considering that there was too much evil to purge, Scourge granted Mercy a stay of execution.

(Dragon's Claws#7 - BTS) - Mercy considered that she should leave Scourge to the authorities as she was every bit her equal in terms of speed and skill while she (Mercy) was not in peak condition at the moment. Nonetheless, she considered that she could not let a virtual mirror of her past self potentially claim any more innocent lives.

(Dragon's Claws#7 - BTS) - Judden subsequently demanded that Dragon's Claws protect him from Scourge. Digit surmised that Scourge was the same person who had slain Barker and that Mercy's actions, given her past, denoted knowledge, guilt or both. While the group resolved to stay with Judden, knowing Scourge would come to them, Scavenger sent Scratch to find Mercy.

(Dragon's Claws#7) - In a base high above the Trudea Shop-Com, as Scourge restocked her weapons, Mercy located and confronted her, advising her that she knew from experience that her path wouldn't work: She would realize after she had killed an innocent that she had become the very menace from which she had been trying to protect people. Scourge was unconcerned, noting that accidents were bound to happen in their line of work. Although Mercy had her gun trained on Scourge, she hurled her jacket into Mercy's face, briefly blinding her, and then tossing her off the edge of the building. After Mercy crashed through the tent-like building and landed in a fountain, Scourge told considered that Mercy had been blind to the truth and that it was down to the individual to write the law in blood. scourge-8162-dead

(Dragon's Claws#7 (fb) - BTS) - As they were hauling Mercy out of the fountain, Scratch located her, and he then led her to Judden.

(Dragon's Claws#7) - Later, while Judden had gone to a nightclub and Dragon's Claws tried to keep the area safe, Scourge slipped into the building incognito and then dropped a smoke bomb. As Dragon's Claws tried to get everyone out safely, Scourge confronted Judden. With her knife at his neck, she demanded he confess, but Mercy countered that he would confess to anything to save his life. Scourge asked Mercy if she intended to take her to stand trial, but Mercy told her that it was ending here and now, and that she looking at her was like looking at an ugly side of herself that she would rather not see. As Scourge raised her gun, Mercy told her to go for it.

(Dragon's Claws#7 (fb) - BTS) - Mercy shot and killed Scourge.

(Dragon's Claws#7) - Mercy subsequently told Dragon that she had faced and conquered some unpleasant truths about herself.

(Dragon's Claws#7 - BTS) - Steel told Dragon that it was a case of "There but for the grace of God go I," but he also added that Mercy could have shot to wound.
