She was a skilled singer and performer, capitalizing on sex appeal and performing multiple quick wardrobe changes during a show.

She was also a talented businesswoman, knowing how to maintain her rights and protect her earnings. She was presumably quite wealthy.

History:

(Ultraverse Premiere#5/1 (fb) - BTS) - MonaLisa's Whirly Girl Tour had a number of sold out shows.

(Ultraverse Premiere#5/1 - BTS) - MonaLisa did something "wild" when the Canadian censors tried to stop her show.

(Ultraverse Premiere#5/1 - BTS) - After the tour sold out in San Francisco, the super-fast ultra Rush called Whirly Girl Productions (having gotten their number via information accessed from his policeman father, identified himself as an ultra and told them he was planning to harm MonaLisa. monalisa-93060-breastplate

(Ultraverse Premiere#5/1) - Rush then traveled to <presumably Whirly Girl Productions>'s rented office and confronted presumed security chief Terry Furgard; he was surprised to see MonaLisa there and stammered over his words upon seeing her. As MonaLisa approached him, put her hand on his chin and asked him not to drool as it was a rented office, Furgard pulled a gun from his desk drawer and aimed it at Rush. Rush advised him that he could take away the gun (with his fingers still in it) or make him shoot MonaLisa if he were there to harm her. Rush subsequently advised them both that there were ultra problems in the city lately and that he could help them against them.

MonaLisa correctly surmised that Rush wanted to be paid, and he acknowledged that he worked for money, just like she did. After Furgard noted the recent ultra threat, MonaLisa appreciated that she wanted to be protected. She then gave Rush a publicity contract to sign that he would not talk to the press, advising him that if he didn't sign, they would get someone better to tour with her the rest of the year and -- as she seductively moved her face close to his -- be very close to her. He signed as Rush.

(Ultraverse Premiere#5/1 - BTS) - Observing a news feature on MonaLisa's many wardrobe changes during her performances, the ancient being known as Aeon appreciated her breastplate as being a powerful artifact from the Temple of Alexandria. He planned to steal the breastplate and kill her in the process.

(Ultraverse Premiere#5/1) - The next evening, MonaLisa performed her concert. When she changed into the outfit with the breastplate, Aeon broke through the barriers and climbed on stage. As he noted his intentions, stammering in the process, MonaLisa told him, "Screw you, Elmer Fudd." Rush then tackled Aeon from behind and punched his face repeatedly, after which he tried to check on MonaLisa, but he spoke to quickly for her to understand. Recovering with only a broken nose, Aeon kicked Rush down, and when he got back up, Aeon stopped his heart and made him collapse.

    Aeon subsequently approached MonaLisa and put his hand through the portal in her breastplate, immobilizing approaching security guards in the process. Recovering via his superhuman metabolism, Rush then punched out Aeon, telling him that he had to get an "E" ticket to get that close to her and that he was not tall enough for that ride anyway.

    MonaLisa then asked Rush if he was OK, and when he confirmed that he was, she told him, "Good. Get off the stage then. I've got a show to finish."

    MonaLisa was present after the show when Mr. Furgard informed Rush that they were using footage of his fight with Aeon in their next video. When Rush tried to argue, MonaLisa informed him that he had approved this when he had signed an agreement stating that any work he did for them was useable for publicity purposes. Furgard further apprised Rush that they had determined that the threatening phone call matched his pretty closely, as opposed to Aeon's

    MonaLisa assured Rush that he would be well compensated for this, as well as receiving royalties off the video and lots of free publicity: "Why not take the money and run. No need to be greedy." When Rush was still frustrated, she kissed him on the cheek, telling him that she was grateful that he had saved her life, "And you'll always have that."

    I would assume that MonaLisa was in some part an homage to or based on Madonna, who was a sex and fashion symbol in the 80s-90s, and who is a shrewd businesswoman whose career spans from the 1970s (when she was in the punk band Breakfast Club) and continues into the present with an album released in 2026.

This profile was completed 09/05/2026, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 25^th anniversary 's celebratory event to represent Rush's stories and characters.
