History:
(Jubilee I#1 (fb) - BTS) - Missy Lopez was a student at Payton-Noble High School in Los Angeles, California and dated the popular Dale Spangler. The jealous type, Missy had been known to beat up any girl who so much as looked at Dale in a flirting manner and one specific instance of these beatings was witnessed by student Meg Devereux. Despite these beatings, Missy Lopez and her friend Amber rarely gave their teachers or school administrators any trouble.

(Jubilee I#1) - Nearly eight months later, after the mutant Jubilee moved to Los Angeles and enrolled in Payton-Noble High School, she noticed Missy Lopez, Dale Spangler and their friends on her first day of school. Later, while hanging at Twin Pines Mall with fellow student Meg Devereux, Jubilee noticed Dale and his friends again, prompting Meg to explain who Dale and Missy were and warn that Missy would beat Jubilee up for even dreaming of flirting with Dale. Dale and his friends soon walked up to Jubilee and asked about Jubilee, commenting that he liked her original name, and as Dale spoke, Missy eyeballed Jubilee with concern. As Dale and his friends subsequently walked off, Missy gave Jubilee a dirty look, prompting Meg to inform Jubilee that she was SO dead.

The next day, as Jubilee was changing in the locker rooms following a gym class game of dodgeball, Meg overheard Missy talking with her friend Amber about Missy's plans to fight Jubilee and Meg rushed to warn Jubilee. Before Meg could fully get her warning out, Missy and Amber confronted Jubilee and Missy exclaimed how she had seen Jubilee eyeing her man Dale at the mall the previous day. Amber chimed in that Missy wouldn't put up with that and when Jubilee sarcastically asked if that was so, Missy warned that Jubilee could not take both Missy and Amber. When Jubilee responded by poking Missy and warning her to let it go, an enraged Missy accused Jubilee of pushing her and Jubilee responded by actually pushing Missy into Amber. A fight quickly ensued and Jubilee easily got Missy to the floor and was preparing to punch her but Amber grabbed Jubilee around the neck, leaving Jubilee open to a punch from Missy. Jubilee responded by using mutant pyrotechnic fireworks against Missy and Amber, leaving them temporarily blinded as teacher Judy Kingsley entered the locker room. Despite Jubilee's claims that Missy and Amber had started the fight, Miss. Kingsley suggested they visit the principal's office.

After Principal Avery and Miss Kingsley agreed to have Jubilee act as a peer counselor in lieu of being expelled for the fight, Dale Spangler met Jubilee in the halfway and apologized for the actions of Missy and Amber, admitting that Missy was an extremely jealous person and Amber simply liked to tag along. He also claimed he would have tried to stop Missy if he'd known her plans to attack Jubilee and assured Jubilee that the school nurse had determined both Missy and Amber to be fine.

(Jubilee I#2 (fb) - BTS) - Dale Spangler broke up with Missy.

(Jubilee I#2 - BTS) - When Dale Spangler again stopped to talk to Jubilee and questioned her about her mutant powers, Jubilee joked that if Missy found out about him talking to her, she might have to end up melting Missy's head to keep Missy from killing her. Dale assured Jubilee that she wouldn't have to worry about that because he and Missy had broken up. During a break between classes, Jubilee told Meg about Dale and Missy breaking up but Meg was preoccupied with fallout from an earlier bullying by some of her female classmates. Later after school, Jubilee and Meg went to Twin Pines Mall, where Meg asked how often Jubilee used her mutant powers and Jubilee replied that, since moving to Los Angeles, she had only used her powers against Missy and Amber and once to light her dark bedroom. The next day, Dale and Missy got back together and the day after that, Jubilee went to ask Dale Spangler out but before she could continue, Dale informed her that he and Missy had gotten back together and that he really didn't want to deal with Missy hassling Jubilee again. During gym class, Jubilee informed Meg about Dale and Missy getting back together

(Jubilee I#4) - As Jubilee was leaving school for the day, she spotted Dale Spangler flirting with a girl in the hallway, only to be caught by Missy. Missy immediately grabbed Dale by the ear and pulled him away from the girl as he insisted he was only trying to help the girl. Upon seeing Dale again in trouble with Missy, Jubilee decided to forget her interest in the two-timing Dale.

Amber

Amber was a friend of Missy Lopez's and Dale Spangler's who liked to tag along with Missy during his schemes against others. Despite this, neither Amber nor Missy were known for getting into trouble with their teachers or school administrators. Part of Dale and Missy's clique at Payton-Noble High School, Amber accompanied them to the mall and later joined Missy Lopez in attacking Jubilee after the following day's gym class. Later, when Meg Devereux asked Jubilee how often she used her mutant powers, Jubilee mentioned that, since moving to Los Angeles, she had only used them against Missy and Amber and once to light her dark bedroom.
