Powers/Abilities: Presumably like all Skrulls, Hulkling can change his shape to impersonate any other being. He often assumes the appearance of a muscular green humanoid, and sometimes sprouts wings from his back enabling him to fly. He has as-yet-unquantified
superhuman strength.

    It is unrevealed whether Hulkling-721's powers were greater or lesser than his Reality-616 counterpart. Given the choice to replicate his Reality-616 counterpart, it would seem likely that his powers were somewhat diminished, but that is unconfirmed.

(She-Hulk II#21 (fb) - BTS) - Teaming with his Earth-616 counterpart, Albert DeVoor of Earth-721 ("Earth-A") used Interlocking Technologies in a money-making vacation scheme where the non-powered residents of Earth-721 could be sent through an Atomic Resequencer where their molecules would be beamed to Earth-616 (which they call Earth-B) and realigned to match the structure of their Earth-616 counterpart.

(Avengers: The Initiative#1 / She-Hulk II#21 (fb) - BTS) - Despite likely having powers on their world due to their unique natures, Hulkling & Wiccan of Earth-721 impersonated their 616 counterparts. They trained and served in the Initiative.hulkling-721-sh21-chided

(Avengers: The Initiative#1) - They were among the recruits to arrive at Camp Hammond on the day it opened, mingling with other new arrivals disembarking from buses. 

(Avengers: The Initiative#2) - As part of the Initiative, Hulkling and Wiccan-721 traveled from Camp Hammond to Texas via a jump gate accessing the Negative Zone, foiling a Hydra assault on the POTUS (President of the United States)

(Avengers: The Initiative#3) - Hulkling-721 flew alongside the Initiative ship returning to Camp Hammond.

(She-Hulk II#21 (fb) - BTS / She-Hulk II#21) - Interlocking Technologies' plot was discovered and various residents in superhuman forms -- including Armadillo, Beast, Captain Ultra, Dazzler, Albert DeVoor, Dr. Strange, Egghead, Hammer & Anvil, Hulkling, Jack of Hearts, Ms. Marvel, Monica Rambeau, Rhino, Scarlet Witch, Scorpion, 3-D Man, Vermin (deceased), White Tiger, Wiccan, and the Wrecker -- were rounded up...

(She-Hulk II#21) - Hulkling and Wiccan-616 berated their Earth-721 counterparts for having joined the Initiative.

(She-Hulk II#21 (fb) - BTS / She-Hulk II#21) - The captured Earth-721 natives were generally stripped of their powers, and sent back to Earth-721. The Thing of Earth-721 assisted Reed Richards-616 with a counterpart device on Earth-721 to facilitate the return of the Earth-721 natives.

    I had initially thought that someone else was the writer of the Avengers: The Initiative issues in which Hulking and Wiccan appeared, but it so much more enjoyable to see that Dan Slott was just poking fun at his own work.

    I don't know how tall Hulking is in his "normal" form. He look shorter than the 6'4" Puma, but I think it's perspective, where they are trying to show the whole group.
    Regardless of his height, look at how massive both Hulkling-616 and Hulkling-721 are in the image to the right. Hulking's OHotMU profile lists him at a weight of 170 lbs., but he's either gotten a lot bigger and heavier, or he just uses his metamorphic power to look bigger. With a build like that, I think the only way he's 170 lbs. is if he's like 5'4", which I don't think is the case. This image makes both Hulklings look more like 6'3" and closer to 300 lbs.

    In my opinion, the Initiative was a really great idea, but when you get the likes of Henry Gyrich and some Nazi involved, it's going to crash and burn.

    Both Hulkling and Wiccan were seen on the cover and the splash page (which was an expansion of the cover) of Avengers: The Initiative#1. At first I didn't see either of them in the interior of the issue, but eventually I found them, really small, in the background on p11 of the issue.

   This profile was completed 03/22/2026, but its publication was delayed as it was intended for the Appendix 25th anniversary 's celebratory event.
