History:
(Godzilla#1 (fb) - BTS) - After Godzilla surfaced on the coast of Alaska, the Pentagon and the White House (presumably the President of the United States of America/POTUS) granted security clearance to Dr. Takiguchi and his assistant, Tamara Hashioka, based on their plans for a way to stop Godzilla (a giant robot temporarily designated SJ3 RX, which would become known as Red Ronin).

(Godzilla#1 (fb) - BTS) - S.H.I.E.L.D. director Nick Fury flew the two, along with Yuriko's twelve-year-old grandson, Robert, to meet up with the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier/mini-carrier in Alaska to confront Godzilla.

(Godzilla#1) - Fury flew Yuriko, Rob, and Tamara to Alaska in an experimental VTOL (Vertical Take-Off and Landing) fighter jet. As they passed over northwest Canada, Tamara remarked that it would be a tragedy if more lives were lost before we -- Rob interrupted, asking about Godzilla's and noting that the Americans would probably try to kill him without trying to understand him. After Yuriko noted that Godzilla was the most dangerous and unpredictable being alive, Tamara noted that even she was beginning to experience doubts, but that she hoped she was wrong and that their plan would succeed.

    Tamara and the others arrived as Godzilla fought off and escaped from S.H.I.E.L.D. forces led by "Dum-Dum Dugan," confirming that this was indeed Godzilla. After they landed, Fury introduced Tamara and the others to Dugan.

(Godzilla#2) - Aboard the S.H.I.E.L.D. helicarrier/mini-carrier, as Godzilla assaulted Seattle, Washington, Yuriko revealed his history with Godzilla and concluded that this made him both unpredictable and dangerous. After asking the doctor's permission to demure, Tamara countered that Godzilla was like an elemental force, a primitive lifeform displaced in time, but "not without his curious dignity."     After Rob had an outburst about Godzilla and Yuriko disciplined him, Tamara distracted from the tension by pulling out the plans/schematics (for SJ3 RX) she had designed with Yuriko and going over them with Dugan.
Dugan continued to express doubts.

    Yuriko and Tamara were present as S.H.I.E.L.D.'s efforts led to Godzilla being knocked back into the ocean, after which Godzilla swam away.

(Godzilla#3 - BTS) - The S.H.I.E.L.D. "Godzilla Squad" contingent unsuccessful opposed Godzilla in San Francisco (with their mini-carrier ultimately/inadvertently being caused to crash by Hercules of the Los Angeles-based Champions).

(Godzilla#3) - Yuriko, Rob, Tamara, and Jimmy Woo's plane landed at Tony Stark's private Detroit airstrip, and they soon met with Stark himself at his Detroit Stark International facility. After Yuriko  introduced Stark to Tamara and Rob, Stark took the group on a tour of inspection of his facility, noting that all available equipment and manpower would be at their disposal. As Jimmy and Tamara left together to check out the facility's coffee shop, Yuriko apparently disapproved of their growing closeness.

(Godzilla#4 (fb) - BTS) - The construction of Red Ronin was initiated, and Stark was impressed with Takiguchi's blueprints, noting that the robot would not only work but that it might prove a match for Godzilla.

(Godzilla#4) - As Jimmy tried to convince Tamara to go see a movie (it was Star Wars, a topical reference to 1977's Episode IV "A New Hope," although it could also reference any other sequel, prequel, or associated movie to avoid the topical reference), she replied that she was going to be extremely busy with Dr. Takiguchi that night, but...(her response was interrupted by a phone call for Woo from Dugan). Nonetheless, she appeared to smile at Jimmy as he walked away.

(Godzilla#4 - BTS) - As Yuriko worked on designs/blueprints, Rob noted from his his grandfather's disapproving glare that he did not approve of the Chinese-American Jimmy Woo flirting with Tamara. hashioka-tamara-godz6-upper

(Godzilla#6) - After Yuriko informed Tamara and Jimmy that he was going to check on their nearly completed SJ3 RX project, Jimmy asked Tamara why she was always so nervous in his company, and he told her that he thought it was quite pleasant to be alone for a change, just her, him, and the project. Tamara told Jimmy not mock Dr. Takiguchi, quoting Stark's praise of his work, but Jimmy replied with his own quote, "You are absolutely beautiful," and he kissed her. After a second or so, she pushed Jimmy away, telling him, "No!" Jimmy apologized, presumably starting to note that he was unsure of her feelings, but she changed the subject, noting that she wondered where Rob was, as she had not seen him all morning and that she was starting to get worried (Rob had sneaked into the facility where SJ3 RX had been constructed). Jimmy told Tamara that if she refused to discuss it, the matter was dropped.

(Godzilla#7 (fb) - BTS) - Tamara was unable to locate Rob.

(Godzilla#7 - BTS) - That evening, a frustrated Jimmy Woo considered that he had blown things with Tamara by jumping the gun despite signals to stop and wait.

hashioka-tamara-godz7-upper(Godzilla#7) - Tamara found Jimmy and told him about Rob being missing, after which they were drawn to the sounds of the rampaging robot that Jimmy had unwittingly activated (and been knocked out in the process). They arrived as the robot approached the gas storehouses, and Tamara appreciated and told Jimmy that the robot could only be activated with a pilot in the control module in its head, and the only who could be inside was Rob.

    Jimmy Woo air-dropped into the robot's eye, and he apparently lucked upon the controls that stopped the robot's motion, after which he brought Rob with him and exited the robot.

    Tamara asked the still-dazed Rob why he had done it, and he told her that he didn't want the robot to kill Godzilla.

    After Yuriko approached, noting that he had received a report about Godzilla having broken out of capture at a San Diego missile base, Jimmy rushed to operate the robot. Tamara tried to dissuade Jimmy from taking this risk, but he noted his appreciation but continued anyway.

(Godzilla#7 (fb) - BTS) - Tamara at least listened in with her own headset as Yuriko provided remote instructions to Jimmy via headset, but the robot failed to respond to Jimmy's commands (due to its cybernetic helmet having been attuned specifically to Rob's brain patterns via the overload).

(Godzilla#7) - Tamara listened as Yuriko noted that the robot's failure to respond indicated that something was wrong.

    After Jimmy had exited the robot, as Yuriko (at least) discussed with Jimmy whether Rob might be the only one who could activate the robot, Rob secretly re-entered the robot and activated it, taking off in hopes of stopping Godzilla without harming him.

(Godzilla#7 - BTS) - En route, Rob named the robot "Red Ronin."

(Godzilla#8) - Aboard a S.H.I.E.L.D. aircraft en route to the San Diego missile installation in which Red Ronin had confronted Godzilla, Tamara sat silently as Jimmy Woo advised Dugan that Rob Takiguchi was piloting Red Ronin.

(Godzilla#9 (fb) - BTS) - In San Diego, it took two days to talk Rob into exiting Red Ronin.

(Godzilla#9) - After Rob arrived on the ground, Tamara hugged him and was thankful that he was not injured. She remained silent as Dugan berated Rob for operating Red Ronin and as Rob defended his actions, after which Dugan ordered that Red Ronin was not to be used again.

(Godzilla#10 (fb) - BTS) - Yuriko instructed that Rob was to stay with Tamara and Jimmy Woo and to stay away from Red Ronin.

(Godzilla#10) - Tamara reminded Rob of his grandfather's instructions. However, Jimmy then apologized to Tamara for kissing her, but she told him that he did not have to apologize, noting that she was just started by it and worried about Rob. Pleasantly surprised, Jimmy asked if she was really not mad at her, and she told him she was not as long as he really meant the kiss.
    The two were distracted sufficiently that Rob was able to rush away and entered Ronin again.

(Godzilla#13) - Tamara accompanied Jimmy via a helicopter to Salt Lake City where Godzilla and Red Ronin battled the Mega-Monsters: Krollar, Rhiahn and Triax. She remained silent and Jimmy and Dugan discussed the situation.

(Godzilla#14) - Tamara rushed to Rob, and Jimmy Woo followed her; Triax spotted them, but Dugan blew up a building in its face, distracting Triax so that Jimmy could carry Rob back to the others. As Rob awakened soon after, he told Tamara of the voice in his head giving the Mega-Monsters orders, but neither Tamara nor Jimmy could hear it. Jimmy remained seated as Godzilla -- with Dugan and Gabe distracting the Mega-Monsters in their helicopters -- in series slew Krollar, Triax, and Rhiahn. She and Jimmy expressed their excitement to each other.

(Godzilla#15) - After Dugan instructed the Nation Guard to handle the clean-up, Rob asked about Red Ronin, stating that they could not just throw him away. Tamara assured Rob that they would get Ronin to Tony Stark's factory and repair him in no time. Rob asked Dugan if it was true that they would fix Red Ronin, and Dugan replied, "Yeah, I s'pose so, kid...we can't leave the blasted thing just lyin' there anyway. We'll send a crew to haul it away."

    After Dugan and Jones departed, Rob joined Tamara and Jimmy in a helicopter with the plan to meet up with them back aboard the Behemoth heli-carrier. En route, Rob told Tamara, "They've got to fix Red Ronin...they've just got to..."

(Godzilla#17 (fb) - BTS) - Back aboard the Behemoth, Tamara accompanied Rob, Yuriko, Jimmy, Dugan, Gabe,  and S.H.I.E.L.D. pilot/technician Hugh Howards to the Utah cattle ranch of John Hawkes.hashioka-tamara-godz17-face

(Godzilla#17) - While Hawkes related the events to Dugan, Jones, and Yuriko, Rob stood silently within the Behemoth. Tamara told Jimmy that she was worried, as Rob had not been the same since Red Ronin's destruction (she was interrupted after Ronin, but that's almost certainly what she meant); he agreed with her assessment.

(Godzilla#17 - BTS) - Jimmy Woo assured Jimmy that Ronin would be repaired, but when Rob walked away, asserting that once Ronin was put back together they would make sure he never combined with Ronin again, Jimmy had no reply.

(Godzilla#17) - Jimmy told Tamara that he wanted to tell Rob something, but that he just couldn't lie to him. Tamara told Jimmy that she knew and that Rob was just "too old for his age."

(Godzilla#17 - BTS) - After Dugan, Jones, and Yuriko re-boarded the Behemoth, Yuriko's associate Gladstone Hawkins, a paleontologist, joined the crew. The discussion led Dugan to conclude that they should enlist Hank Pym to supply them with some Pym Particles to shrink Godzilla down to a size they could more easily deal with.

(Godzilla#17 - BTS) -  Gabe Jones flew a mini-jet to meet with Pym and acquired and returned with the Pym particles, after which Rob manipulated Godzilla into position to be doused with Pym's reducing gas.

(Godzilla#17) - Godzilla's size and radioactive nature delayed his shrinking, allowing Godzilla to punch the Behemoth back and then grab Dugan. As Tamara steadied Yuriko, Rob urged Godzilla not to hurt Dugan, but then Godzilla rapidly began shrinking. Tamara and the others rushed off the Behemoth, and finally Gladstone Hawkins caught the rodent-sized Godzilla in a net.

(Godzilla#18) - Aboard the Behemoth helicarrier, Tamara and Jimmy watched over isolation room #4, which contained the caged diminutive Godzilla. As Jimmy started to tell Tamara that there was something he wanted to talk to her about, she mused about how it was so hard to believe that the massive Godzilla had been shrunken thusly and that he seemed so tame and quiet. She ignored Jimmy's comment about the tiny Godzilla having burned Dugan's mustache, instead noting that Godzilla was standing up as Rob entered the room to check on him. Watching Rob interact with Godzilla, Tamara tearfully commented that Rob was a small boy with so many large feelings and experiences. She then apologized, acknowledging that Jimmy had wanted to talk about something, but he told her, "not now" as they watched Rob and Godzilla interact further (see comments).

(Godzilla#18) - After the Behemoth reached the East River, Tamara and Jimmy were following behind Gladstone in the Behemoth's exit stairs when Gladstone tripped and dropped the cage; although Gabe Jones exclaimed that the cage was designed that not to open even if an elephant stomped on it, the cage popped open and Godzilla dropped into the East River. Tamara stood astonished, with her mouth agape. At Dugan's instruction, Jimmy, Tamara, and presumably Gladstone and Yuriko fanned out in the area from which Godzilla was last seen, hoping to recover him before he got too far inland. hashioka-tamara-godz19-upper

(Godzilla#19 (fb) - BTS) - Tamara fruitlessly searched for Godzilla.

(Godzilla#19) - Tamara met up with Jimmy, who shared that he had not seen any signs of Godzilla either. As it was going to start getting dark, they both headed back toward the Behemoth.

(Godzilla#19) - After they met back up with Dugan, Jones, Yuriko, and Gladstone by the Behemoth, they discussed concerns about Godzilla not remaining tiny for long, at which point Tamara pointed out two approaching figures, which turned out to be Rob and the thinly-disguised 4' tall Godzilla, wearing an overcoat and a hat.

    As Godzilla suddenly grew to 7' tall and a conflict ensued despite Rob's efforts, Tamara told Jimmy that, while she hated to admit it, she sometimes thought that Rob had more sense than all of their group. She stood back with Jimmy as Dugan and Jones repeatedly engaged Godzilla, who ultimately took off into the city.

(Godzilla#20) - As Dugan prepared to pursue Godzilla, he instructed Tamara to take Rob back to the Behemoth and keep him there. Following a stern admonishment from his grandfather, Rob silently accompanied Tamara and Jimmy Woo back into the Behemoth.

(Godzilla#21) - Tamara watched as Godzilla fell into a shark tank and was then swatted out of the tank by the Thing, after which Mr. Fantastic smothered Godzilla, causing him to pass out.

    After the Fantastic Four transported the 20' tall Godzilla to the Baxter Building, Yuriko, Reed Richards, and Gladstone Hawkins agreed to use Richards' time machine to send Godzilla back in time to the age of dinosaurs (see comments).

    Jimmy considered that this would shatter Rob, at least at first, and Tamara agreed, but she added that all Rob had ever wanted was peace for Godzilla -- a normal life free of mankind's harassment -- and that Rob was mature enough to understand that this was the best way.

    Tamara watched as Richards used the time machine, although none present apparently realized that Godzilla was instead transported to Earth-78411, aka Dinosaur World, home of Devil Dinosaur and Moon-Boy.

(Godzilla#22 - BTS) - Back aboard the Behemoth, with the issue of Godzilla seemingly resolved, Tamara told Jimmy Woo of her plans to return to Japan to assist Yuriko in putting his professional life back together.

(Godzilla#22) - In the Behemoth's cafeteria, Jimmy asked Tamara why she had return to Japan so soon. He asked if she could not stay in America a little while longer, but she reiterated that she was Dr. Takiguchi's assistant and that she had to help him shift his research into a new area. After Jimmy reluctantly acknowledged this need, she assured him that she would return to America and to him someday; she softly touched his hand in the process, but this gave no comfort to Jimmy.

(Godzilla#22 - BTS) - Godzilla's radioactive nature apparently combined with a mystic pit (associated with the Hag of the Pits) on Earth-78411 and sent Godzilla -- who had just returned to his full size -- back to Earth-616, and he emerged through the time portal (which Reed Richards, realizing what was happening, had moved out of the Baxter Building) in the middle of Manhattan.
(Godzilla#23) - After Godzilla returned to Manhattan at full size, Dugan had Howards pilot the Behemoth to lead Godzilla out to the river and away from city. When Rob confronted Dugan and argued against his goading assaults, Dugan had Yuriko and Tamara take him away, which they did, despite Rob's protests.hashioka-tamara-godz24-yuriko

(Godzilla#24) - After Rob rushed atop the Behemoth and urged Godzilla to trust him to find peace, Godzilla picked up Rob between his fingers. Tamara assured Yuriko that Rob would be alright as Godzilla trusted him, and Yuriko acknowledged this but nonetheless feared what would happen if Godzilla's trust wavered even for the briefest of moments. Tamara and the others watched as Godzilla followed Rob's instructions to walk to the bay, after which Godzilla set Rob back down atop the Behemoth's deck.

    After Godzilla headed out to sea, Rob tearfully berated the others, asking if they were satisfied now that Godzilla was gone. Tamara and the others respectfully remained silent, although she appeared to be waving goodbye to Godzilla.

 (Avengers I#199 (fb) - BTS) - After Dr. Earl Cowan usurped control of Red Ronin and went on a rampage, Nick Fury put a call in to Yuriko and Tamara for insight on how to take down Ronin.hashioka-tamara-godz24-wave

    After discussing events with the Avengers, Fury departed to take a call.

    Dr. Takiguchi (and possibly Tamara) supplied Fury with a plan, which involved manipulating Ronin into firing his rotary S.H.I.E.L.D. like a discus at an attacking Iron Man, enabling the Avengers to capture the device. Iron Man linked into and took control of the device, which the Avengers then used to destroy Ronin's left hand and both legs; the Beast (Hank McCoy) subsequently determined the weakest link in Ronin's power flow, and pulled the plug, incapacitating Ronin.

    Jimmy and Tamara were watching Rob visit Godzilla in #18, and it was implied that Rob unlocked Godzilla's cage when he went into a trance-like state, from which he could not recall anything. They should have seen what happened.
    Given Rob's past behavior, it would have been insanely negligent for them to have left Rob unsupervised or to have gotten all twitterpated and distracted from Rob by their own attraction/emotions.
    Tamara was primarily a technical assistant, but Jimmy Woo was a seasoned S.H.I.E.L.D. agent. There's no excuse...other than plot device.

    Reed Richards...idiot?

    He intended to send Godzilla to "the Cretaceous Period of the Mesozoic Era -- 900 million years in the past."

    The Cretaceous Period was indeed within the Mesozoic era (its third and final period), but it was not 900 million years ago, but rather 145-66 million years ago...right up to the point of the apparent asteroid strike that brought about the end of the age of dinosaurs.
    So...they could have been dropping Godzilla off the night before the asteroid strike that would have killed him. That's not cool.

    900 millions years ago is the division between the mesoproterozoic period (1600-900 million years ago) and the neoproterozoic period (900-543 millions years ago).

    Dinosaurs first appeared during the Mesozoic era circa 250 million years ago, and the giant dinosaurs into which Godzilla might have fit would indeed by the Cretaceous period.

    However, Reed was off in his time settings by 800 million years (or perhaps by a factor of 10, and he meant 90 million years ago)...and the time machine did not send Godzilla into the past but rather to another reality.

    Did he mean to do that to avoid massively disrupting the past and potentially changing the future by sending a giant fire-breathing reptile who would have dominated any other creature in that time period (and perhaps inadvertently set massive, uncontrollable fires)?

    Or was there error just because computers weren't so accessible in the 1970s, there was no internet, and someone just checked and misreported information from an encyclopedia?  

Don't you make my brown eyes blue?

    Both Rob and Tamara fairly consistently are shown with light blue eyes.

    Per my understanding and some half-@$$ internet searching, most Japanese people have dark brown eyes and others have light brown eyes. There is reportedly a population of Japanese people known as the Ainu or the indigenous people of Japan, who live in Hokkaido, with blue eyes (and other different physical features than other Japanese people). That's definitely the case - watch the excellent Golden Kamuy movies and series on Netflix (or the anime it is based on), and the blue-eyed Ainu are a major story element - Loki. There are also people with partially blue eyes in Akita and Aomori with "partially blue eyes"; it is speculated that this originates from Russian people mixing with the local population thousands of years ago.
    Other sources note that Japanese people with mixed European ancestry (especially with mixing on the side of both parents) may have blue eyes.
    It's also possible to wear colored contact lenses, etc., but those were not common at the time of the original stories.

    I would speculate that choosing the unlikely eye color was not intentional, but perhaps the colorist and editor were not aware of the typical brown eye color in people from Japan.

    I did not see Tamara in #5 , #11, nor did the Marvel Chronology Project, so probably good...I also did not see her in #12 or #16.

    The license issues are a mystery to me. The indicia of the Godzilla issues notes Godzilla to be the property of Toho Company LTD, but all other characters to be the property of Marvel. Apparently some settlement was reached at some point that gave Toho possession of all characters originating in the Godzilla series? Obviously Red Ronin and Dr. Demonicus appeared a few times, Yetrigar showed up as well, and Yuriko was part of the X-Club/X-Men Science Team for a time, but the appearances have been limited, and the Official Handbook of the Marvel Universe was not allowed to profile Red Ronin...but we were allowed to profile Dr. Demonicus...
